Most effective teams using the Salary Cap

Carolina in the upper part, but also Carolina had the HIGHEST Salary Cap last year.

The table below illustrates 2008 Salary Cap Efficiency, which essentially compares a club's 2008 cap accounting to their success on the field. As we all know, the team that spends the most money on players isn't always the team with the most wins; to that point, the Seahawks had the fifth highest 2008 Team Salary with $122 million but could only muster four wins. Conversely, the Giants had the fourth lowest Team Salary at a little under $105 million, yet had 12 wins.

Wow I didn't realize that the cap had gone up from 85 to 128 in a mere 4 years.

I a sure that helped more than one team (SF and Tenn I am thinking) get out of cap hell.

I do agree with some respondents that it should include playoff games because what's the use of doing well with the cap if you don't have those?

The Patriots defiantly. They just have the best FO in sports IMO. And whats amazing is how many guys do they replace every year and still are one of the best teams in the League. Lose your starting QB no prob we got this guy who hasn't started a game since HS plug him in. I would probably trade 2 1st and 2nds just fo Belichick, the guy is one of the best coaches in history period.

I wouldnt be so quick to give such high praise to a cheater... Belicheat built a good team by cheating

he has no business being anywhere near the hall of fame...

its like South Park said.. no one cares if you cheat, as long you win... right?

Huh! It wouldn't surprise me at all if he wasn't in the HOF next year, (since coaches don't have to wait 5 years like players). He's the best coach out there. Yeah, he stole some signs, do you really think he's the only one who's done that? I don't like him at all but there's no doubt he's HOF...

Just wanted to echo this.

There was a significant ephasis on how little other teams cared about them being caught. All teams knew this kind of thing went on and it's crazy to think that he was the only one doing it. I reckon they were just the ones who were caught and although other teams were suspected, thye made them the example of what punishment other teams would face if they did not cut it out.
