Do you think the new GM signing will get this franchise beyond 2nd place?

Guys listen I know we've been talking about bringing in Alan Branch to upgrade the NT position, but if history has taught us anything, is that the Sean Gilbert acquisition didn't turn out, so we might as well start Fua there. Don't say I accept mediocrity though, y'all

Yea, because apparently you're not aware at least three of those teams off the top of my head have several starters they signed from other teams

Yet only one, the Broncos, will have a realistic shot at winning the Super Bowl. They were a playoff team last season without their big free agent signing so...

Or we can sign a crusty old Ron Edwards and start Fua there anyway.

Um one of those teams was devastated by the bounty scandal (and deservedly do), and still managed a 7-9 record, which is coincidentally the best we've done in the last 3 years, the 49ers are still in the playoffs and earned a first round bye their second year in a row, don't understand why you're shitting on them or if you're not aware that they actually sign FAs too, and the Giants won the Super Bowl last year so signing free agents does pay as long as you're not being retarded like Dan Snyder

Our two biggest FA years (1996 and 2003) ended the same way the 9ers season will end - watching another team holding the Lombardi.

Can't help but to think if it is an extension of Carolina life in general. I mean face it besides the Wright brothers inventing flight and barbeque what exactly is that area noted for when it comes to innovation and being a leader of the country... it's like a who's who of also-rans were founded there. Pepsi-Cola (formulated after Coke, and pretty much lost the cola war), Krispy Kreme donuts (yea I don't see those every 3 blocks like I see Dunkin Donuts). Coincidentally to the Pepsi thing, the Panthers have also secured second place in the NFC South race this season, behind the Atlanta Falcons (Coca Cola was formulated in Georgia).

The RTP is nothing to sneeze at, says wikipedia.

Anchored by leading technology firms, government and world-class universities and medical centers, the area's economy has performed exceptionally well. Significant increases in employment, earnings, personal income and retail sales are projected over the next 15 years.

The region's growing high-technology community includes such companies as IBM, SAS Institute, Cisco Systems, NetApp, Red Hat and Credit Suisse First Boston. In addition to high-tech, the region is consistently ranked in the top three in the U.S. with concentration in life science companies. Some of these companies include GlaxoSmithKline, Biogen Idec, BASF, Merck & Co., Novo Nordisk, Novozymes, and Wyeth. Research Triangle Park and North Carolina State University's Centennial Campus in Raleigh support innovation through R&D and technology transfer among the region's companies and research universities (including Duke University and The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill).

The area has fared relatively well during the Late-2000s recession ranked as the strongest region in North Carolina by the Brookings Institution and among the top 40 in the country. The change in unemployment during 2008 to 2009 was 4.6% and home prices was 2%. The Greensboro metropolitan area was listed among the second weakest and the Charlotte area among the middle in the country.[6]

By our two biggest FA years you also mean our two most successful ones?

Just stop trying to argue because you're doing a piss poor job trying to justify why our front office being comatose in march makes any sense
