Can Cam be our Franchise QB?

Constructive criticism LOL. Are you kidding me!? Now i know you are just a troll who doesn't read this board.

It says you joined in 2010 so that means you've been here to see him dragged through the mud before he was drafted and the non stop criticism he has received all throughout the entire 2012 season.

well the past couple of weeks all I see are posts that translate to "i can't live without Cams manhood in my mouth". I think I read a post that says I miss Cam. Lol, is that the kind of stuff you want to see, really, gtfoh.

Perfect, if he has then time will tell. I only jumped in because the original poster asked a valid question and was trashed. He had a valid point so I went to bat for him. Now that's working as a team, something you guys should learn. Plus, everyone isn't going to agree with you 100% and debating with a world class a**hole like me, then its going to be hard to win.

You guys slay me man.

He didn't have a valid point. He echo'd the same crap the anti-Cam crowd has been spewing here under the guise of being "one of the biggest Cam supporters out here"...because suddenly people won't tear the post apart then I guess? Let me help you understand what you're "going to bat" for.

Ok, let's think about this. I'm one of the biggest Cam supporters out here, and a life-long Panther fan. I want the guy to do well. And he has. But, does anyone else not think that if he doesn't mature and grow up that he can't lead our team to a Super Bowl? Or even to the play-offs? Look at what Russell Wilson and RG3 did this year. Both guys were extremely smart, humble, and played not for themselves, but for their team. Cam has put up the numbers, but has yet to show that he can lead a team and finish in close games. Granted, he played tremendous in the last half of this season, but that's when all that pressure was lifted off of his season. Because we were out of the play-offs by Halloween.

More than once the offense (note I said "the offense" and not "Cam"...there are other guys that play offense) had the team ahead near the end of the game these last two season and the defense (note "the defense" not any individual player - they're a team too) allowed the opposing team to score and win the game.

~Russell Wilson is quarterbacking a team in the playoffs who has a fantastic running game (that they actually use) and a studly defense. The success of their entire team is not placed on his shoulders - their TEAM made it to the playoffs.

~Bob the Third is quarterbacking a team with a ridiculous RB they stumbled across in a late round who they actually use to great effect. They made the playoffs as much because of Alfred Morris as Bob. Their TEAM made it to the playoffs - not Bob the Third

~Cam Newton is quarterbacking a team who started the year with a weird Peter Pan Tricky Fairy Dust ™ offense that they refused to change, a defense who didn't remember how to tackle until week 7, an 80 million dollar backfield who isn't used properly...and where the success of the offense ran entirely through him until someone figured out DWill can still run with three games left.

How the man interviews doesn't matter one bit to his success on the field. It will give the NFL talking heads (and our fans - for some reason) something to whine about..that's it. You want to see whether his team gives a fug about it? Check out when teams were taking late shots at him in the Oakland / New Orleans games. Those guys coming to his defense? They don't give a fug how he interviews. We shouldn't either. The refs didn't huddle up after his 72-yard TD run against Atlanta and go "you know what that was a nice play but man was he a dick after the Giants loss earlier - let's take the TD back".

He could interview with sock puppets wearing Mickey Mouse ears....as long as he shows what he's got on the field who cares? Anyone remember Clinton Portis and his stupid antics? How about we go back a little further and take a look at Joe Namath. I could list all of the successful NFL players in history who have had a less than humble / non self-effacing / decidedly non-Quaker persona who were pretty successful. But I'm hoping that won't be necessary.

Also funny we should mention in that valid point we're going to bat for how he played well in the last half of the season. Noone who brings this up ever bothers to mention that he mysteriously started playing well when someone grabbed Chud firmly by the scruff of his neck and forcibly removed his head from his ass. It's as if people don't understand that there are more parts to a team than the quarterback and that there are things other people (players and coaches alike) can do that will hurt how well he plays.

It's also gonna be worth mentioning here that Cam currently holds the record for most passing yards through his first two seasons by any QB ever. This to go along with his rushing records. Nah - this isn't a guy who can be our franchise QB.

So - mister "World Class Asshole" - I salute you for hitching your wagon to, and defending, this post that makes "valid points" that have not been thought out beyond waking up and thinking "man I want to complain about Cam today". That took balls.

Also I feel like this portion of your statement deserves special credit:

debating with a world class a**hole like me

>implying Internet Tough Guy

>youmustbenewhere.gif

This place is like asshole central bro. Noone cares.

Is it really translating to that, or are you just seeing what you want to see?

The only one talking about manhood in ones mouth appears to be you, I'm not here to judge though.

Well, if you think communication is mainly mannerisms then you are a re-yard. If Cam was on the phone doing his kiddie mannerisms this woukdnt be a discussion and I wouldn't be saying what I am.

Like the Jelly of the Month Club, it's the gift that keeps on giving.

I want him here more than anybody, when Vick was burning us, I wanted someone like him but I thought Jr was the good ol boy that didn't want that type of quarterback but he did. But I'm not going to give him nearly as much credit as you guys are until he earns it. He needs constructive criticism. All you guys would be around him are yes-boys.

Cam has gotten plenty of constructive criticism. Don't you think that his play during the latter half of the season reflects that he listened to such criticism and actually tried to improve and mature? Don't you think that the second part of the season reflected Cam's growth not only as a QB, but a man? Why do you think said behavior began to improve, and, more importantly, his game began to improve? Why do you think rational-minded people who have always supported Cam questioned during that time whether Cam could actually get the job done (key point being during that time)? When did somebody turn the fuging clock back?

In my opinion, questioning his mannerisms that seemingly spoke to his leadership were possibly valid and constructive at that time, but to to question them now, after obvious improvement, is not constructive criticism but destructive hyper-criticism from near hypocritical haters who accuse people of blindly seeing that Cam can do know wrong, in their own Cam-does-everything-wrong world (even when he is obviously striving to do right, which is reflected on and off the field).
