STHU about Rivera Already!

top dawg

It's time for all the negativity, back-handed compliments (i.e., he is just a nice guy) and insults, and outright stupidity to stop. Rivera is our guy going into next season. He hasn't been all good, but he hasn't been as bad a coach as some of you are trying to make him out to be. Rivera got J-Rich's blessing, so deal with it! We missed the playoffs. Deal with it! Go have a drink! Jump on another bandwagon! Go worship Bob 3! Do something more productive than continuing to insult the coach.

I never believed in the power of negative thinking, and I still don't. If that's what floats your boat, then make sure you don't forget your life preservers. Once you get fished out of the sea of negativity a year from now, you can liken your experience to a baptism. It will be a baptism by Ron Rivera. Once we get you all dry and warmed up in front of the fire, top dawg will have a nice slow-cooked pot of crow stew waiting on the stove for you.

God bless the Panthers, and God bless Chico!

I was somewhat on the fence about keeping him but what I thought was the most convincing was the locker room support. Those guys had nothing to play for but it looked like everyone sacked up and played out the season. Maybe they didn't all play for Rivera but it is clear he has the ear of the locker room. Despite the emotion on the board, I think starting over would have been a set back.

I was as disappointed as anyone when we kept him. I was a high on Kelly as anyone. I really still do think keeping Rivera will turn out to be a bad idea.

But I know enough to know I'm not always right and I hope I'm wrong. I'm not going into the season spouting "Damnit I hope they lose every game just so I can tell people I was right". I'll give this team, and Rivera as the coach, as much support next season as I do every season. If he turns the corner and shows he has the goods this season I will be more than happy to eat mounds and mounds of crow. I certainly won't cheer for losses or mistakes.

If we secure a playoff berth next year I will fully support him remaining our coach. But if we fail to make the playoffs next year, barring cataclysmic event like Cam going down to season ending injury, I will be right back on my fire Rivera and hire someone worth a poo bandwagon the moment the last game of 2013 is over.

People crying about others complaining is always more annoying than people complaining.

Why do you think nobody likes brooklyn bully?

Well, actually I am not crying about others complaining, I am telling them to shut the hell up. It's time to move on, plain and simple. Don't know brooklyn bully that well, but brooklyn bully is not top dawg. If you like me, that's fine. If you don't, that's fine also. I am just saying what needs to be said at the moment.

    • First of all Sooners fan? Mods? Second if you think someone needs a specific reason to hate Texas you don’t watch real college football.
    • 100% even if rest of team is really talented if they march young out to be qb and he plays like he has for 90% of his starts the panthers have already lost doesnt even matter how good the rest of the team is or isnt and also makes it hard to even tell how good they are.  They need true competition for young this offseason.
    • It will be awesome to have an improved stadium to lose in I guess....   https://www.yahoo.com/news/panthers-file-rezoning-bank-america-111500840.html     The Carolina Panthers have taken another necessary step toward renovating their home of the present and future. Panthers Stadium, LLC, filed its rezoning site plan with the city of Charlotte on Monday, initiating an important — if mostly technical — step toward renovating Bank of America Stadium. The filings state that the rezoning relates “primarily to technical aspects associated with improvements to Bank of America Stadium,” and that the rezoning is required because “the current stadium zoning is out of date” for the team’s stadium renovation plans.   The planned stadium updates include new seats installed throughout the upper and lower bowls; stadium safety and security enhancements; a reimagined South Lawn Pavilion; upgraded restrooms; exterior enhancements (including LED video boards) and more. Planning for the stadium renovation project will continue through 2025, with construction starting in 2026 and the renovation’s conclusion in 2029, The Observer previously reported.
