Dear media, please stop telling me Andrew Luck is good

dude. think. what is THIS thread about? The Colts or Luck?

wow some of you guys have gone off the deep end with the Homer Kool Aid.

Your argument though, especially the "game winning drive" argument, credits that ability (of the team, mind you) only to Luck, Mr. I Only Think Of Team.

the overall record for come from behind wins is 7. Luck tied Peyton who did it in 09. if it was so easy wouldn't more qb's do it? more often?

it boils down to this. i can give credit where credit is due, be objective and STILL like my team and qb which is the Panthers and Cam.

you other guys it pains you to give a sliver of credit to any other qb when clearly this years rookie class has done great.

Since when does GB, Den, New Orleans, and the Patriots have good RBs?? You don't have to have good RBs to be a good QB and not having good QBs doesn't prevent you from being a good QB.

There have been several young QBs who have had little or no running game that have been able to complete over 50% of their passes more than once in 6 games.

Last I checked having a good running game doesn't make you miss receivers and have less than adequate arm strength.

Everyone keeps telling me that he "looked good for a rookie". Well everyone told me he was the most mentally advanced QB to come out of college in NFL history. Yet, for someone who is as advanced in terms of football IQ he sure seems to struggle at times making quick reads and getting the ball to his receivers on time.

Honestly, out of Cam, Wilson, RG3, Luck and Dalton I would say he is the worst of that group. And I am not sure he has higher upside than any of them either except possibly Dalton.

Lots of QBs have won games. Marc Sanchez has won a lot of games. The Golden Calf of Bristol won a lot of games. Joe Flacco wins a lot of games doesn't meam they are great QBs. Some of those guys I just mentioned actually suck.

And to the people who chalk it up somehow to sour grapes. There may have been some of that in the immediate aftermath of Luck going back to Stanford, especially when many didn't think there was another franchise QB in the draft that year. But now, 2 years later, I think most of us on here would agree that we have a pretty good and talented QB. Furthermore, i doubt 90% of the people on here would trade Cam Newton for Andrew Luck.

So why the fug would we be bitter over a guy that is not better, or if you give him way more credit than I do on par with, Cam Newton not coming here? Why would anyone, after seeing what Cam has done and what he still can become as he develops, care that Luck went back to Stanford. That quick, easy, and lazy argument no longer holds much water.

If I should hate someone for irrational reasons it would be Russell Wilson because I am a UNC fan, yet not only do I love his game and think he should be OROY, I also think he is one of the best rookie QBs I have ever seen. Up there with Cam's rookie year.

So dismissing what I have to say as mere fandom, or some sort of butthurt, I think is the easy way out to dismiss my points. Look at the stats, but better yet, watch him play.

Anyone who watched the game at 1:00 and then the game after cannot honestly say that they think Luck is better than those two QBs. RG3 struggled in the second half, but he was also playing on one leg and was up against the absolute best defense in the NFL (IMO).

One more thing. Remember how everyone said that Stanford would be nothing without Luck? LOL!

Just imagine if The Golden Calf of Bristol had a full season!! He had 6 in only 11 starts. It is just too bad he can't beat out those great QBs of Sanchez and McElroy.

Just because I think Luck is not that good right now =/= me not giving credit where credit is due.

And when you look at there schedule there isn't 7 games on their schedule they should have even been behind in.

How can you say Luck sucks. He broke the rookie passing yard record and threw 23 touchdowns. He also lead the most 4th Quarter comebacks in the NFL this year and took the average Colts into the playoffs. He may not be as great as some people say he is but he is very good for a rookie

Vince Young? haha. not really.

i think some of you guys are locked in to Cam to the point where you are missing the point. the ultimate goal for each team is to get to the playoffs. thats it. its not about stats or commercials or swag or the best td dance or whatever. its about winning more than you lose.

i said it earlier. if Cam was statistically dead last in all qb categories YET the Panthers went to the playoffs i would be thrilled. and i would hope even the most ardent Cam fan would be the same.

I really wish people would stop saying this. The man threw the ball 600 times! He threw the ball 50+ times and did not even get to 300 yards.

You are bound to break records when you throw the ball 600 times as a rookie.
