Cam Newton victory speech vs Saints

Zod I love this place.

Where else but the interwebz can fans of a team complain about the level of fandom needed to be a fan. I guess there needs to be some sort of manual or some such. So we all would know the rules on how to be a proper fan.

Nah. that wouldn't be any fun. Nevermind.

none of that means anything if they don't win next year. if they aren't playing lights out then all that was just a bunch of words and rivera's motivational skills will be shown as being insufficient.

they want to show their love for the coach? win games.

Oh I agree, I was just pointing out the fact that the team seems to gel really together off the field and with the coaching staff so that may be a reason for keeping Rivera because they (JR, whoever the hell is making decisions) feel that it is easier that Rivera can learn to actually coach the team as good as he controls the emotional/continuity side of the team.

funny how i was called one of the most blind homers for most the season.

You usually are a blind homer.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Feel free to disagree, but if you watched the video and saw how the players reacted to Rivera and then saw all the tweets from the players today regarding the news that Rivera would be returning, you might think differently.

Yes, I watched the video, and I follow the same guys on Twitter, so I saw those too.

My point wasn't that Rivera didn't have support. My point was that support for an embattled coach, especially when you end the year on a winning streak, isn't anything unusual.

Just recently, look at the support Raheem Morris got in Tampa Bay. You had players openly questioning him being replaced with Schiano, to the extent that a couple of them had to be shipped out of town. The support of players is nice and it's heartwarming, but that isn't enough if you aren't a good coach (and I'm speaking hypothetically; not saying Rivera isn't a good coach).

Ok, let's be real here. It all comes down to two things. Record and performance. So imo, Rivers needs to win more than he loses right off the bat. So if the players want to keep Rivera, they had better come out showing it.

Win or tie every quarter of the season, be in playoff contention, and look good doing so would go a long way in Rivera's favor.

Losing well fought games, and playing well, only gets you so far.

Much like I agreed with Rayzor, I also agree with you. However, finding a coach that all players mutually love is pretty hard to find. That's why I trust Rivera to due diligence and start progressing as a coach.

It's TruCatzFan

As in True (Cardiac Catz Fan)

It's funny how people get all butt hurt and make things personal because they get called out for not supporting the team

it's cute how you think you could have any kind of effect on a person that's different from a gnat buzzing around.

I think what pisses me off about your stance on our current situation (the team) is that I feel like you have betrayed yourself; and in effect the die hards such as myself. It's almost as if someone offered you a sip from the stupid cup, and you chugged it.

I see what you're point of view is in its entirety. You are correct (as usual) in a lot of your analysis, but i think that you have the blinders on at the moment... And it's unlike you. Sorry for lashing out at you, I just expect more from you than the average poster here.
