Players that are screwed now

Rivera might have taken a new liking to DWill after that Saints** game performance. it very well might have saved Rivera's job.

Unfortunately, it really doesn't matter. We are going to have to move one of our RB's, and Stewart's contract makes it pretty much impossible to move him.

I recall a bunch of Huddlers clamoring for Rivera to put Adams back on the field. Rivera should give the guy another chance, how can Rivera keep Adams inactive and activate Edwards, etc. Rivera finally put Adams back on the field and we all know what happened. Maybe, just maybe, the guys that aren't playing, aren't ready to play...

Right. Rivera's job was saved by winning meaningless games late in the season after any post-season hopes were crushed.

Why can't DeAngelo Williams keep his job after tearing it up in a meaningless game at the end of the season after any post-season hopes were crushed?

Maybe RR would have had an easier time winning games that mattered.....if highly paid players weren't watching from the sideline and instead that money was used on a guy playing every down at a weakness.

I can't understand people still wanting this pointless clusterfluck in our backfield. Not about them as individuals it is about what having highly paid cheerleaders prevents us from doing

I dont think Joe Adams in the dog house is Rivera specific.

Any HC taking over this roster would be hesitant.

I believe he had a total of 24 touches this year and 4 fumbles.

You simply cant put a player on the field who performs like that.

He better get it fixed yesterday or he'll be selling phones in the Mall next year.

For comparison DWill has somewhere in the neighborhodd of 1400 touches and 8 career fumbles.

You know I've been too lazy to put this for a while but I suppose I'll do it now

Rivera said early in the season that the reason Adams was in the doghouse wasn't the drops. It's because he wanted the safer north/south guy out there returning punts over Adams and his explosive but east/west tendency.

Just thought is throw that in.

I never understood Deangelo getting benched in the first place, we saw him do great things long before Rivera and Chud got here. They didnt know how to use him, its their fault for trying to run that stupid offense and not actually putting him in a system to succeed. Everything single thing has revolved around Cam when it shouldnt have.

Adams' earned his benching. Rivera finally gives him a second chance and he blew it. IMO, he has one offseason to break this habit. The next time Rivera sees him drop something, The only field he will see will be at practice.

Rivera is building his team. And some of Fox and Hurney guys are still a part of this team. I just believe he deserves another year to build his team.

I don't know what's overrated about seeing a rookie make the plays he did... There is proof he CAN play. Again, Simms said during our CBS broadcast this year that Gettis was explosive and would be a big contributor to our offense for years to come. Yet, Rivera publicly argued with him and he never saw the active list again thereafter.

You can't teach his size/speed combo, and he can get behind a defense. People want to downplay what he did as a rookie and compare him to Drew Carter... Well, Carter never made the type of plays Gettis did. EVER.

yes, I believe he will be a contributor for years to come but,

the only time Simms saw Gettis this year was at a Friday walk-thru...........in shorts.

Well doing great things long before doesn't really mean much in the NFL....

I don't think it is that they don't know how to use him as it is......how to use him doesn't mesh that well with what they consistently want to do on offense. You can't build an offense around what everyone does well and have them all play big roles.

IMO, both Adams and Gettis have to prove to Rivera that this year was the exception, not the rule. They need to do everything in their power to come back better, stronger (Emotionally and physically), and show they can be a productive member of this team. They will get a chance. It is up to them to take advantage of that chance.

Both have potential. I am sure Rivera sees it too. It is up to them to show they have what it takes. Work, work, then work some more. Otherwise, that dog house will be moved out of the backyard and into the dumpster.
