Told ya

Certainly worth mentioning.....now don't come back on Monday and tell us it's gonna be Beane...please?

With the choice on the head coach already being made by JR, I don't see a GM candidate with other options coming to Carolina. Why are you going to come to a franchise where the owner is already making your decisions for you?

AKA, Beane Magic.

Again, I hope I'm wrong, but JR making the call on Rivera confirms my worst fears. I'm afraid that JR is following right along in the footsteps of Al Davis and Jerry Jones. He's simply exerting too much control over the football side of operations. At least he knows to stay the fug out of the media... for now.

Well, as pointed out before, only two open GM positions don't have coaches staying or in place if Kelly goes to Cleveland, so there will be a few openings where exactly that has happened....I also keep thinking that since Accorsi was hired, it wasn't to green light an in house promotion of Beane. Maybe JR really wants to get out of the Football decision business, but the only one who knows just how involved he was/is (Hurney) probably won't ever talk about it.

I'll bump this topic in week 6 with a "Told ya" when we are 1-5 and getting outmatched by the patriots at home.

Just letting you all know ahead of time.

Patriots are one of the best teams in the league. ..

I don't see how a one year flier would discourage a GM from coming in. If Rivera wins then there's no real reason to can him. If he loses, he's out and you get your guy anyway.

but its another year wasted, and the saying "we'll get them next time".

same ol same ol. Not that I mind that rivera is staying, but it seems so easy to predict what this franchise (by this franchise I mean Jerry Richardson) will do before they do it. Cant wait to see which puppet GM is going to be hired.

by the time Tuesday came, anybody with a brain should have realized Rivera was staying.

I never believed in the power of negative thinking, and I still don't. If that's what floats your boat, then make sure you don't forget your life preservers. Once you get fished out of the sea of negativity a year from now, you can liken your experience to a baptism. It will be a baptism by Ron Rivera. Once we get you all dry and warmed up in front of the fire, top dawg will have a nice slow-cooked pot of crow stew waiting on the stove for you.

God bless the Panthers, and God bless Chico!

...and that's the whole point isn't it....even with 'another year' will Rivera be able to compete then or ever with one of the 'best teams in the league'.

I say no.

I have seen zero that indicates he can in the place it matters, Ws....the man's schemes could not beat the Kansas City freakin Chiefs...he lost to Tampa twice....win those 3 games and the world looks different...lose those 3 and here we sit.

...I'm not even talking about the disaster blowouts on national TV.
