Richardson played this perfectly... You don't fire a 7-9 coach on Sunday after the game. You let it marinate and think it over. Then make an intelligent decision; not one boiling with emotion right out of the gate.

Second, why the hell are people freaking out? especially like the op? The meeting between coach and owner was scheduled for a WEEK after the last game! That's a pretty good indication that the coach won't be fired; mostly due to the fact that it's a race against time and other fired coaches around the league are looking for jobs.

As bad as this season felt, you do realize that we are a Cam Newton fumble against Atlanta, a Cam Newton bounced pass of less than 10 yards in the end zone against Seattle and a Steve Smith trip and pick six against Chicago from being a 10-6 team, don't you?

While he hasn't been the most creative or demonstrative coach, none of those can be hung on Rivera... And through it all he never lost his team or his players... I think he deserves one more shot...
