Rivera is staying: Fix the Panthers

Yes the condascending, fug you JR attitude showed its face today as Rivera is retained and we have yet to hire a GM.

But this is no different than his attitude towards the Players during labor negotiations or his treatment of Panther fans.

There are about a half a dozen teams interviewing for new GM's. And guess what......NONE OF THEM have hired anyone yet.

We are NOT behind the curve in the GM search.

Damn...we sure do have an impatient fan base.

You want news so bad that you would rather rush and hire someone.

Funny how the thinking was exactly opposite last year. Chud was awesome and McDermott sucked. We focused on the defense last year and fixed it. Now the offense is broken and McDermott is great. Maybe the solution is focus on the offense and fix it and Chud would be fine going forward. He is the same guy he was last year only hopefully much wiser.

Chud did well last year, only to change what wasn't broken and wait 10 games or so to do anything about it... which I have to assume came from elsewhere.

Doesn't seem that surprising to me..

If NFL GM searches work like most other executive searches, there are phone interviews prior to flying candidates into town for final selection. Those conversations likely included questions about retaining Ron or finding a replacement.

It is an important decision and likely why JR waited until the preliminary interviews were completed before making a final decision about Ron.
