Rivera is staying: Fix the Panthers

Only people inside the organization know if Chud tried to get to cute and different with an offensive system that screwed up the beginning of the season and has learned from that or will he continually experiment to the team's detriment. If Rivera reigned him in and our offense the last half of the year is an indication of Chud then I'd hate to see us cut bait for grass is greener mentality.

Last year we were so worried about Cam having the same system/coaches and now we hit a speed bump and everyone changes with winds and wants change.

If we win our first two games next year it'll be all aboard for the Superbowl and how smart it was to keep Rivera as he was on the cusp of greatness. If he loses his first game there'll be I told you so screams for his head. Fans today are so 20/20 hindsight.

There are changes I'd like to see on staff (special teams coach, OL coach) but I'm not expecting anything.

Still believe Gettleman winds up GM.

Gettleman makes the most sense.

I like Castillo as an upgrade, but Matsko has been allright. I've been wondering if Dave Toub, who had a head coach interview or two, might not be the assistant head coach Rivera needs.

FWIW, unless JR requires it, Rivera won't fire Chudzinski. Don't get upset when it doesn't happen, those of you that are demanding it.

Interesting.

Jonathan Jones says on his Twitter that staff shakeup is a possibility.

If so, you could guess it'd be on offense or ST. Not much reason to change the defensive staff.

for me to have any faith in this team going forward, there would have to be.

someone has to be held accountable. changes have to be made because i can't believe that this team is fine with the status quo.

Pete Prisco's thoughts.

@PriscoCBS: I think the Panthers did the wise thing keeping Rivera. But they have get with the times with that offense. Cam is a passer.

Agreed. On the second part I mean.

*Crosses fingers*

Castillo's reportedly on his way to KC to join Reid.

1. Accountability? There has been none since the day JR led the lockout.

2. GM? Any candidate who wanted a say in who the head coach would be going forward is no longer a candidate.

3. 6-10 and 7-9 has been confirmed as perfectly acceptable performance.

4. I'll be watching a lot of other good football teams next season and pulling for them. I prefer to not be associated with mediocrity.

I wish the panthers were mediocre. We're a complete joke.

Yes the condascending, fug you JR attitude showed its face today as Rivera is retained and we have yet to hire a GM.

But this is no different than his attitude towards the Players during labor negotiations or his treatment of Panther fans.

I'd be OK with Norv but prefer Whizenhunt.

Any one see any tweets from the PLayers and their reactions to Rivera staying?

Norv still keeps Cam in the same base offense which is the only reason I like that move...
