Florio says we're "leaning" towards Dave Gettleman

Gettleman's resume is extremely impressive. I'd be cool with this guy.

It is that. If I remember correctly he has a background with RR. No? If that is the case he may actually know enough about Ron to know that he is a great coach and believe that he can build a winner with him as coach. I don't for a minute believe JR would go one way or the other for some of the stupid reasons I've seen posted here over the last few days. The man is not stupid and he did hire Accosi for a reason. I believe he is honestly trying to make this all work to build a winner.

Dave Gettleman is in his 25th season in the NFL, his 15th with the Giants and his first as Senior Pro Personnel Analyst. He spent the previous 13 years as the Director of Pro Personnel. Gettleman joined the Giants in the spring of 1998 as then-director Tim Rooney’s assistant. He was promoted to Pro Personnel Director in the spring of 1999 upon Rooney’s retirement.

Gettleman has been a part of six Super Bowl teams, including three winners. He was with Buffalo in 1990 and 1991, Denver in 1997 and the Giants in 2000, 2007 and 2011. The Broncos and the 2007 and 2011 Giants both won the championship. Gettleman has been associated with 13 playoff teams in his NFL career.
