Mularkey, Rivera in limbo as Jags, Panthers consider coaching changesBy Jason La Canfora | CBS Sports NFL InsiderJanuary 4, 2013 2:27 pm ET

Carolina's coaches have been dangling as well, with owner Jerry Richardson finally set to meet with second-year coach Ron Rivera this weekend. The longer this has dragged out the more unrest and concern has gripped the staff there, team sources said. The assistants were informed they would know their status by Monday and, should Richardson make a change, Denver offensive coordinator Mike McCoy is viewed by many as a strong favorite (he worked in Carolina previously).

Richardson has requested permission to interview Giants execs Marc Ross and Dave Gettleman, sources said, but the actual interview process is not believed to have commenced.

Wasn't It Rip Scherer that did that? Because McCoy worked as the QB coach with the Panther's pretty much the whole time Delhomme was here.

McCoy didn't do much with Delhomme other than act as a sounding board/calming influence and have him throw into a barrel.
