We should at least take a hard look at Chip Kelly

I don't foresee a bidding war at all... If you think about it, and watched last nights game... We are the ONLY offense capable of that scheme. We have the personnel and re on the rise. Name another Team that currently is Head Coachless where he could come in right away and run his scheme.

Nobody else finds it odd, that JR won't be talking to Rivera until tomorrow? Giving himself ALL of today to talk to... Oh that's right the guy that Won his bowl game last night?

It's pretty obvious on the timing alone what's going on here. Now, do we get him or not? That remains to be seen. At this point I believe in my heart that JR will be getting the first shot with Chip, if he hasn't already set it all up.

The one thing we have going for us, is that it's Chip Kelly and Everyone should know where he's at at ll times... But teh JR is a sneaky sneaky... I have a feeling that our franchise will be sculpted for yrs to come in the next 24-48 hrs

We don't have a GM yet. Talking to potential coaches is (should be) the GMs job. Maybe you're right, hell all of us are just guessing, but I would be very surprised if Kelly is hired here.

Kelly will likely already have a job with another team before we even have a GM in place.

probably right and i think thats the case with any other legit coaching options. by the time a new GM is hired there will be no options much better than rivera so we get stuck with the status quo for another year.

It's amazing how the Chargers and Panthers travel along the same path.

When AJ Smith finally got around to firing Schottenheimer it was late in the process and all that was left was Norv Turner on the scarp heap.

Several more years wasted in San Diego.

not a snowball's chance in hell.

If JR went this route I would be extremley shocked he grew a pair and took a chance. I don't believe he took a chance on Newton. I don't believe he would have allowed the pick pre-cap fix, and we would have missed out. JR just doesn't take chances, as we saw before the 'lockout' happend in 2010...

I will say it is rather frustrating that JR fired Hurney months ago and wasn't ready to start interviewing GM candidates in Monday. Makes me think he never planned on firing RR but wanted the new GM to "think" they had a say so in keeping RR, but they really didn't.

A lot of times the first team to interview gets the guy...ask Arizona about this.

I don't understand this take your time approach. JR has had months to vet the candidates and I just don't understand the logic.

Exactly why you can't fault people for being angry with the team for sleepwalking their way through this process. We should have had the pick of the litter if we wanted if. Instead Richardaon sat around and waited hoping it would make sure he didn't have to make the tough decision.
