Get Clowney at all cost.

Can't draft him even if we wanted to. He is only 2 years out of high school. League rules say must be 3 years out of HS. Maurice Clarett already tried fuggin with this rule and lost. Clowney will be back at USC next year

Just wiki'd Clarett... Today I learned that the biggest idiot ever lived is named Maurice Clarett.

I know this. I've been following this guy since before we recruited him. I'm actually talking about next draft. I want to position ourselves now to grab when he comes out next year.

lol at everyone saying he is not any good and laughing at the Peppers comparison. Y'all must have missed the fact that he was consistently compared to Peppers and called the best prospect to come out of high school this decade during recruiting. Clowney is a freak of an athlete and if you really don't think so then you have not watched him at all.

And no, he did not get handled by Lewan. Michigan did a good job keeping the plays away from JD all game long. They ran the opposite way (especially on rollouts), chipped him, double and a couple times triple teamed him, and Lewan held his facemask all game long. And to call this play a missed assignment is not completely correct. If you watch, the guard was pulling to pick him up. Usually the guards have enough time to get to the DE, but Clowney is so freakishly quick that he was already downfield by the time the guard got to the spot. This kind of play happens all the time but very rarely (never) do you see the DE beat the ball to the RB.

Anybody who has any reservations about drafting Clowney has an alterior motive for disliking him because there sure as heck isn't any part of his game you can critique. He's unquestionably the most dominant defensive I've ever seen and has already had a few NFL GMs say he'd unquestionably be the top overall pick this year-he's 19. I'd certainly consider making a move for him, but unfortunately, the team that's in position to draft him likely just isn't going to deal the pick. Some players are just untouchable, as Andrew Luck was this past year. Any body who thinks there is anybody in college football right now though who is any where even close to Clowneys level of ability simply hasn't watched him play. It's a one horse race.

Lewan is a prospect I've had some interest in him, but haven't watched much of because i figured we'd end up in the 7-10 range. Now that we're out of that, I'm going to take a closer look when I get the time.

I was hoping to see Lewan close Clowney down so I could rag on them about over hyping JC, then I watched the game. Lewan is going from a school know for producing some damn good OL and Clowney just had his way with him.

I remember a run play they ran to Clowney's side. He comes out of his stance, reads that it's a run and engages Lewan. At first it looked like he'd be a non-factor in the play until he just tossed the dude aside and made the play. It was incredible.

I don't care what our needs are next season, or whenever he enters the draft- do want.
