If he's somehow available at #46, it would be criminal to pass him up.

Warmack/Hopkins in the first two rounds would be amazing. I'd even be willing to entertain the idea of Hopkins in the 1st (if he kills it at the Senior Bowl and Combine to raise up as the #1 or #2 WR in the draft) and Kyle Long in the 2nd. I think that a lot of folks in Clemson overlooked Hopkins in favor of Watkins, when Hopkins has continued to make plays throughout.

I'd take him without hesitation. He would come in and instantly be an improvement over every WR on our roster not named Steve Smith.

He's drawing comparisons to Roddy White and Hakeem Nicks. Mainly people looking at the height/weight/hands combo.

Keep in mind that's his listed weight. Clemson could very well be exaggerating it. It's very important he clocks in at that at least.

Like those two guys, it may take him a while to get up to the pro game, but when he does, he has just absolutely extraordinary potential. I adore the way he robs the ball out of the air when he catches; he's got tremendous hands.

I want to see more of him, and I'll admit there is just something about him I can't put my finger on that I'm nervous about, but he has uber potential, he just needs some refining in the teachable parts.

Like his attitude, too.

Now I've only seen a few games he played in but he reminds me of Anquan Boldin. A guy who is an amazing number 2 receiver but just an ok number 1. So as a second round pick? yes, take him absolutely. First round? no, not unless its the last few picks.

Beyond being the same height I don't see much comparison between the two.

Besides Q has been a pretty decent number 1 for a while and id take him on this team in a heartbeat. The only reason he was a 2 in Arizona was because one of the best of all time was lining across from him.

Like I said haven't seen Hopkins play but like three games but the way he attacks the ball and seems to get open without blowing by guys or out sizing them reminds me of Boldin.

As for taking Boldin on the panthers? heck yes! But i don't put him in the elite category like fitz, megatron, andre johnson, aj green, 89 etc. Also as to tell me im being dumb Boldin makes another great catch in a playoff game.

While its true that Boldin is in a tier below all those guys, it need to be said that he and 89 are tied on the all time receptions list. Of course that is largely due in part to the difference in their respective team's offensive philosophies during each of their early years, but it still needed to be said.

Also, any Panther fan who has been so for any length of team has watched this wail about and flail pitifully trying to find a dynamic receiver other than Smith and would die for the opporunity to have a Boldin level WR on this team.

I'm gonna say right now Hopkins will likely be the first WR off the board this April, and the more I read about him and his work ethic, attitude and dedication in addition to all that talent, the more I'm starting to hope it's to us.

The way you make up for a lack of size is playing above your stature. Be physical. Master your routes. Understand the offense. Find advantages elsewhere. When you listen to Hopkins conduct an interview, he’ll talk about (for example) exploiting a cover-2 and appears to be a student of the game. Despite the arrival of highly-recruited Sammy Watkins he never complained about a reduced work-load in 2011. Watkins left the LSU game after picking up an injury in Clemson’s first offensive series. That makes a 13-catch near-200 yard performance even more impressive against one of the best defensive teams in the SEC.

During the game ESPN’s sideline reporter Jeannine Edwards relayed a story about Hopkins being asked in high-school to make a list of targets for the year ahead. Apparently he’s continued this tradition throughout his career and has met every goal he set out to achieve. Supposedly his one remaining goal for the 2012 season is to become a first round pick in the NFL draft. It’s this kind of determination and focus that’ll have GM’s and coaches salivating when they sit down to speak with this guy. And doesn’t he just sound like a perfect compliment to a workaholic like Russell Wilson? You can almost imagine the pair working overtime throwing passes during the off-season. It’s a chemistry waiting to happen.

Keep in mind at 6'1" he isn't exactly a midget either.
