Pat Y at it again about Beane.

When you fire somebody (Hurney), you usually want to bring in the opposite of what you just had in place.

The ball was dropped when Richardson didn't get rid of Hurney with Fox. That was all on him, Richardson is responsible for the last two years because he stuck with Hurney.

Giving Beane the full time gig would be another colossal mistake by Richardson. Every move Beane makes will be second guessed because he trained uner Marty Hurney, the guy who was fired midseason and hasn't had a great track record in the draft after the first round since 2008.

He won't have the benefit of the doubt. This fan base is tired of losing. I am tired of watching them lose and attending games to watch them lose.

Richardson has to give the job to an outsider and if he does, he is committing to getting rid of Rivera. Look at what Holmgren did in Cleveland, keeping Mangini for a year. There is no need to waste another season.

This franchise and fanbase cannot afford another slow start in 2013.

Bottom line is Rivera hasn't shown he can be consistent in a whole season. He has to go and a new GM has to be brought in.

The Chick-fil-a Bowl is tonight. There was no way we would have an outsider on staff and ready to start by tonight. Therefore, Beane must still do his job.

As for the "no sign of JR looking outside" for a new GM. How about hiring Accorsi to find a new GM or asking permission to speak with Ross? Does that not count, Pat?
