I know it will come off as an excuse, but our schedule this year was pretty brutal.

Kansas City, Philly, and Oakland all sucked. But that was it. Every other team we played was pretty good.

When I look back at the schedule with the power of hindsight and think "which games should we have easily won" Those are the only 3 games that I can come up with. Still can't believe we lost to KC.

The other 13 games, there are a handful that I figure we were legit underdogs (both ATL games, @NO, @CHI, and DEN), and then 8 games that I would consider just complete toss ups.

Let's put it this way. There is no such thing as a good loss. All losses suck. But when I look back at out schedule in hindsight, there is really only one game that we lost that is truly a headscratcher and that was Kansas City.

Again that isn't an excuse for our record, we should have been 10-6 and could have been 14-2. But this schedule wasn't cupcake city either. Every Sunday was a battle against teams that were just as good as we were. We lost some because of coaching, we lost some because of bad play, and we lost some because of bad luck.

Our team has to learn how to win against a decent team in crunch time. I am not convinced they have learned that yet. The problem can't be blamed on any one aspect though. We lost several close games this year, for a number of different reasons. Every part of the team shared the blame. A coaching change might fix the problem, or it might not. But its a problem we are going to have to overcome if we are going to become a playoff contender.

Colts - interm coach that was recently fired from steelers leads rookies and some old vets to playoffs.

Redskins- another fired coach with a crappy team lead by two rookies (rg3 and Morris).

Seahawks - college coach on hot seat starting rookie third round QB and young secondary.

Bengals - coach on hot seat but makes playoffs back to back seasons lead by young players dalton and green.

Vikings - another hot seat coach with a young unproven QB and rookie leaders.

None of those coaches were on the hot seat..... Every single coach on that list has playoff experience, and so does the vets on their team. Compare that to ours.....

In b4 "our QB is not the leader of men like those guys"

So far, JR has failed to put the proper team around Cam. Firing Hurney hopefully was a start.

There is a proper team around Cam. Cam is not above reproach here. He fugged up plenty although overall I congratulate the strides he made. He came a long way this year.

You seem like one of those really negative people who likes to play the role of the oppressed victim all the time.

I hate those kinds of people.

Our vets have playoff experience too home boy haha, Super Bowl experience in fact.

Marvin Lewis has been on the hot seat for years.

Leslie Frazier would've lost his job of they didn't make the playoffs.

Pete Caroll was being questioned until he gambled with Wilson and won.

Shannhan had a losing season last year and a lot of people thought he was crazy for giving up that much for rg3. He started 3-6 too.

The team won 2 games the year before he got here. Yesterday was the first time they have won a game he didnt score a TD in. The team lacks talent & coaching to be above .500, something they have not seen in 4 years. Never said Cam was above reproach, but with a better supporting cast he played well enough to get us a playoff birth. I dont think a team with no pro bowlers or all pros to its name that hasnt sniffed a playoff game since Obama been in office is supertalented.

What some of those teams had that we only developed late was a defense that could shut teams down. The fact that the offense had to be perfect and our special teams sucked doomed this team more than anything. Making a change at special teams coach and working to improve the defense is what paid off big dividends. Before we had an offense and little else. Now we had all three phases picking up the team. That is what you need to win consistently.

At the end of the year with all the injuries you could argue we were not as talented as earlier in the year. Too many people think it is talent that makes all the difference but that is only part of it. Philly showed that buying talent isn't always enough. They have to play together as a team and have chemistry. That is what our team had at the end. That and a more traditional offense that finally suited our backs. Williams was awesome yesterday.

Cam played well enough for the team to be 11-5 or 10-6. I'm not making excuses for Cam but he overcame the coaching. The nuanced trial offense during the first 5 or 6 games, plus the lack of a consistent running game didn't help Cam. Remember some of those losses Atl, TB and Chicago were give aways and Cam had decent games...easily seal the deal with a formidable running attack....who was that guy yesterday, #34???? thought I recognized him from many moons ago.

I'm not sure where you're going with the oppressed victim thing?

I feel like our talent is just as good if not better than most of these teams. Even with injuries we still have better players than most of these teams that made it.

How many of those teams I listed are being anchored by rookies? At least half.

This shitt shouldn't take so long.

We fire the only coach to take us to a Superbowl and expect good things to happen to us....

Now he's sitting in Denver with the best QB in history, with one of the best defensive and offensive coordinators in the league... Karma
