Poor Armanti :(

Is that so? I'm not an Armanti hater, or a fan for that matter. But if he made plays when he needs to, I think we would have won more than 15 of the 48 games in his tenure.

I don't disagree with your statement but how many times has he been on and off from punt, kick to WR? We had inconsistency from losing Pillares and Joe Adams fumbling, and splitting returns from armon, munnerlyn, and Lafell.

He had a fair shot to prove his worth last year.....was the league's most ineffective and least productive.

Even with that 69 yard return, Armanti is ranked 40.

Adams is 33.

Armanti has 2 returns and a 38 yard average...not really sure what the point of the link is other than stating that Armanti didn't beat Adams for play time until the end of the season.

The kid has a bit of a fighting chance to stick to the roster next season if this coaching staff is still around. I'm not going to say I expect him to make the team, but I think he has a better chance than some people believe. Coaches usually like to have a few "football players" around who aren't necessarily overly talented but have some versatility, the right attitude, and do what they're told.

Armanti didn't make the team last year because of some sort of assumed top-line speed. He made it because he's a good blocker, has some ability to fill in multiple roles, had some experience in our 2 minute offense, has generally improved since he's been here, and specifically that there wasn't anyone better around to take his spot.

When he walked off the field the first thing the coaches did besides congratulate him was coach him up on what he should have done to make the last guy miss. He nodded his head, in acknowledgement that he should have finished that up.

If he spends the offseason with conditioning and continuing to improve, we may have ourselves a football player. If he loses his roster spot to someone better, then the team is better either way.

He followed his blockers to re outside. If you don't have elite speed, you don't try to improvise.

How many punt returns for TDs are there in an NFL season? Even with our poor coverage teams the past few years, the low number might surprise you.

I think our fanbase has unrealistic expectations after having returners like Michael Bates and Steve Smith.

Um....there are plenty of gears between Armanti's speed and elite speed.

And yeah, if you don't have great speed you should have SOMETHING else to your game. Watch Brandon LaFell take an end around and watch his moves.....

Armanti isn't a NFL return man. That has pretty much been proven.

There were 19 punt returns this year for TDs, 20 last year. I think that means you should expect 1 per year. Unrealsitic is acting like there is only an Armanti Edwards level......and the next tier up is best in the NFL

Now that Burney and foxy are gone, armanti has got to go. We need game changers and he's nit it. I would be flustered if armanti takes up a valuable roster spot for one more year. I'm not sure he should be on the practice squad. I think he will be a great pick up for the jets.
