Panthers have a chance to make some history against New Orleans

A year after Brees and the Aints rubbed it in on us while making history in week 17 last year, we have the opportunity this year to, in some capacity at least, return the favor.

If the Panthers can muster 282 yards of offense, the Saints will break the record for most yards given up in a season, previously set by the 1981 Colts with 6,793 yards. That means the Saints would have the worst defense in the history of the league.

Might not mean much, but any time ol' uncle Montsta can add anything to your sh!t-talking repertoire, I feel obligated to do so.

I don't think you can actually say that would make them the worst defense in the history of the league. Rule changes mean yards are much easier to get now than they were 30 years ago.

By that token, the records they set on us last year hold no weight.

Fug the saints* I hope we demoralize them in the dome.

The record would at least be a "moral victory" of sorts (geez, I hate that term).

But the Saints getting their measure of vindication in the Bountygate thing and signing Payton to a new deal while playing in the Toilet Dome make this game nothing short of a monstrous upset should the Panthers pull it out. But I'm sorry guys, if I'm a betting man, there's no way I can believe the Panthers put up about 40 to win this game and I won't be surprised to see the Saints win by 17 or so.

Remember, they have a pretty good tight end in Jimmy Graham and the Panthers haven't been able to cover a TE since 2002...
