Media, Fans and Newton

Mr. Scot

Recommended Posts

That's an awful lot of text for such a flawed view. Oddly enough look who were the first to pie him.

Essentially it is just another Mr. Scot thread telling those with differing opinions to shut up and get over it.

Oh, the irony :lol:

You're free to have differing opinions. I have mine and write them when I feel like it.

Nobody's forcing you to read. Heck from what I can see of your response I doubt you even did. And if you did, you obviously didn't get it.

Read it all. There is nothing new to get, you have the same agenda you did pre draft 2011.

I have nothing against you, just calling it like I see it.

I can pretty much guarantee you don't see it.

The point of the thread was that national media and fans outside the fanbase don't care enough about Newton and the Panthers to bother getting the story straight, Instead, they just repeat what others say. If we were to win more games however, the narrative would change.

I seriously doubt you got that out of what you read, which tells me you didn't really read seriously (if at all).

Matt Cassel is good guy, very approachable & active in the KC area.

Bradford is thought to be a leader with little help, & I haven't heard any teammates disliking him...

Did I mention we moved to Missouri in September?

Anyway, I agree with everything Scott has said other than this will stop when we start winning. Many will stop but there will be those who are going to hate him no matter what & I don't mean just those that are rivals. They will be identified by avoiding talking about the Panthers as much as possible, & will tout the awesome play of everybody else in the event of a Lombardi.

At any rate, some of y'all need to avoid the media or you're gonna get acid reflux. It's easier to feed outrage/tell people what they want to hear than inform.

I wouldn't argue either of those points. There will still be people who hate, and some folks should just turn their TV off.

And I remember what it was like trying to get Panther news or discussion while living outside the area.

Cam could go on and have a Brady-esque career, and the narrative wont change at all IMO.

Paid to play;

Stolen laptops;

Me-first selfish prima donna;

Arrogant jerk.

fug the haters.

disagree. When Cam starts winning, there will be more and more people saying positives about him. for now, he can look as good as humanly possible but as long as this team loses (even for reasons out of his control) and there will be more haters bitching than anything.

Just because someone doesn't agree doesn't mean they dont understand.

Even while we are winning there is still an abundance of negative stories circulating about him. It is this way and honestly it appears it may always be. There are an awful lot of people out there still upset about being wrong on their bust predictions. Blaine Gabbert a better QB than Cam Newton... Remember that?

Even the Panthers fans who were vehemently (in some cases extremely ignorantly) against him as the pick will claim they are behind him, but that is only when our football team is doing well. Those people know who they are, and they express that on a daily basis here in different ways. Some more obvious than others.

oh yeah cam is a superstar. u forget he won the nat championship heisman,.....all that media coverage then he had the lead story with his dad asking for money ALL fuging YEAR. hes got alot non panthers fans but got alot of non rival hate too.

dont tell anyone.........but to keep it 'real' he only get half the attention because he is a black qb and plays half good with a "shady college history". sorry but its true.
