Cam's Contract

The bad news is that he's gonna get the biggest contract in NFL history without question, especially with Richardson as the owner doling out the millions to anybody who we drafted.

The good news is that it's really gonna screw over any other team with a young QB. lol Indy.

Then we will continue to struggle. 1-18 when Cam turns the ball over proves he needs help for us to win.

We have been in EVERY game except for a couple bc of him.

What we don't need to do is give fat deals to positions that are easy to fill and to multiple guys at those spots

You are right and the help should come from the rest of the team stepping up instead of standing around waiting for Cam to do it all.

Just image, the Colts 10-5 despite Luck turning the ball over 18 times, and the Bengals 9-6 despite Andy turning the ball over 13 times. Cam has turned the ball over 11 times so far, so why isn't this team in the play-offs?

because overall the team itself sucks and has been sucking since 2009.

IMO, instead of worrying about "locking Cam down" with money, shouldn't you be more willing to demand Mr. Richardson give him the necessary tools, in the form of disciplined players, to help this team win and be competitive so he would want to stick around. When it comes to some folks, money isn't everything. Winning and the ultimate prize of getting SB trophies is. Didn't Stevie prove that to you guys not to long ago when he was demanding to be traded? Something tells me Cam shares Stevies passion for winning more than the love of money.

This sounds nice in theory, but when Team A offers you $8 million per year and Team B offers you $18 million per year, and both teams promise to surround you with quality players, where are you gonna go?

This team doesn't "suck." Teams that sucks get blown out week in and out. This team simply lacked the discipline needed to hold on and win. And, that usually comes from not winning much. When a team wins a lot, they know what it feels like and turn to that energy to push them over the hump. This team hasn't been successfully winning for quite sometime. And I'm sure those who were on part of the SB team are mostly gone, so there isn't passion and drive isn't there.

Take a look at the Texans. How long did it take them to get to where they're at now? They are playing way better than they did just two years ago.Give it time. With discipline, passion, and good coaching team, the Panthers can be the Texans in a year or two.

You're going to stick with the team who has the real track-record of winning and who you have built a real brotherhood with. Think about it? What makes QBs leave from one team to another? They are not the same as receivers, who are more like a dime a dozen. Any team know they have a good QB is going to want to build around them. If a QB is on a team for three years and the the team isn't helping hime, all the money in the world isn't going to make him want to stay. Remember Carson Palmer? He simply hated the Bengals and wanted out. Who knows, maybe it was that mindset that cause them to have such a couple of bad seasons. Once they granted him his wish and put Andy in his place look what happened.

You never want a unhappy QB on your team. And the best way to keep him happy is to give him the people he needs to help him help the team win. Money alone will not do it.

I agree but I do think Cam should be the secured as the highest paid player on the team, which in turn will bring in quality free agents at a discount because they want to be a part of a winner with an electric young QB.

I think Cam will get a record contract, which will be broken when the Redskins and Colts give their guys even bigger one's. It's the nature of the beast.

this is not going to happen.

Cam may very well be the reason that a player decides to come to Carolina but....

your not going to be getting "hometown" or "Cam" discounts.

Cam is locked up for 4 more years in Carolina one way or the other, for contract numbers purposes if he continues to improve the sooner we lock him up long term the better. Because with the better he plays the more he's gonna cost. If he wins a playoff game with a pro bowl season we are talking a minimum of a 6 year $100m contract.

Pretty sure we got Tolbert for $1 mill less than what San Diego offerred because of a home town discount.

And you can't tell me a veteran player will not take less money if he has the chance to win a Super Bowl right away.
