i can't figure out this damn song

so i've heard this song a couple times now. i think it was the background on a youtube video of some montage of something (i have no clue what) and i've heard it three separate times in ecuador in cafes and stuff.

this is probably the worst description known to man, but it sounds almost like a chanting native american cadence with no english words distinguishable, and then has some sort of an wind instrument playing a hook pretty steadily throughout the song. slower tempo.

if you know what i'm talking about you'll probably get it instantly, if you don't know this is probably the most worthless song description of all time.

nope and nope. much more "world music" feel. the main chorus sounds like "hen-ya hen-yai hen-ya HEY-eye" over and over, very native american-ish

and that hook may not actually be reeds or anything, it sounds halfway between a whistle and a xylophone, four notes repeating in a loop

rrrrrrrrrrggggghhhhhhhhhh

That's the whole problem with Native American music. Not really translates to main stream.

African American music morphed from Boogie-Woogie and R & B to Jazz, Swing & Rock & Roll. Even during the Big Band era, there was a hit with Hawaiian War Chant. Egnima music was taken from chanting by Monks.

Native American's may not have scored with their music, but that's OK. They got back at the whities with Bingo and gambling. LOL
