Arguing with refs

Mr. Scot

Recommended Posts

I have little doubt he'll be fined for it.

The good news for us? Betcha that won't happen again.

I'm sure ESPN and NFLN will run this story all day tomorrow.

I think if you continue with this type of behavior on the field, the refs are gonna start looking for it. If the refs are looking for something, they usually find it.

He definitely can't do this again.

But I don't want him going to the opposite extreme and just stand by quietly either.

The kick was way overblown by Beuerlein - you can clearly see the defender on Cams legs as he pushes them down when he tried to get up. It looked like Cam thought the guy was shoving/holding him down so he kicked up to get him off.

Getting up in the refs face was fine, he looked scared for a sec. Plus, they were making pretty poor calls all day, someone had to tell them!

NFL network might give it some play, and it might get 10 seconds on ESPN, but it will be mostly ignored so they can talk about potential playoff teams. The main stories will be the Cowboys losing to the Saints, Giants collapse, Luck making the playoffs, RGIII close to making the playoffs, Steelers collapse, the Seahawks 49rs game, Vikings and Adrian Peterson, and other playoff teams.

Sure, the kick while not justifiable is understandable. It was his reaction toward the ref that I was referring too. He's still a very young man, obviously he isn't in full control of his emotions at times. I'm sure he'll work that out as his career continues, he's obviously a very nice guy(see him giving TD balls to kids)

As an outsider looking in, I think it looks very bad. I would be shocked if Cam isn't fined for it.

My god this is being overblown.

Lmao BlanksKarma. I've never heard of a bitter division rival being reduced to an "outsider looking in".

Thanks for your unbiased assessment of the situation.

Nah, the Raiders admitting they were trying to hurt him kills there story. Kinda hard to bash Cam reacting to defenders who bluntly claimed they tried to take him out of the game.

Also, if you have watched Cam carefully all year.....he kicks his leg when a defender tries to stay on them. He is just protecting an asset. He is a QB.....they won't fine him for protecting his legs against lineman.

What on Earth do I have to be bitter about regarding the Panthers? Atlanta has owned them, we have won 36 games compared to your 14 the last 3 years and we have won 5 of the last 6 head to head.

I feel my comment was an objective view of the situation. I did say the kick wasn't a big deal, it was his reaction to the ref that was. In the past I have defended Cameron on several occasions, particularly his handling of the media and the incident while playing at Auburn.

I get it dude, you don't like the Falcons or their fans, fine. It doesn't mean every Falcons fan is some blind, bitter, biased homer.

Once again, the kick doesn't bother me. It's the reaction to the ref that is gonna get him fined. If he keeps jumping in the faces of refs, they're gonna start throwing more and more flags. I don't see what's so hard to understand.

    • Super raw, not sure he is worth a top 10 pick.  Primary a pass rusher.  A bit like Burns, very fast athletic but doesnt always follow the play.  His highlights look good but when you watch him play you can see he is just raw and needs to develop
    • Personally, I am not sold on Bryce yet--and I do not think anyone is saying they are, but I don't think Ward is on table when we draft anyway.  Not even sure if I would rather have him than one of the later QBs.  I see a lot of potential in Allar, Nussmeire, Rourke, and even Hamilton from Ohio State--Milroe is intriguing, but I am not sure he is an NFL QB.  Ewers is that sleeper who falls and becomes a solid starter. I think that we sign a veteran who has played and we draft one of these project QBs. To your point:  With that in mind, I think you have to take QB off the table in round 1, and if Bryce can string 4-5 games like KC together, we still need to draft a QB in round three or so---I really think Rourke is a great fit for this offense--he is accurate and gets the ball out quickly---he impressed me vs OSU.   Reason?  I think we may have a tough decision to make about Bryce in 2 years--will he be worth $60m?  That decision is a lot easier if you have been grooming a backup for 2 years who can play. In round 1: I am hoping for PSU's edge Abdul Carter In round 2:  I would like to see us grab a DT who can rush the passer.  Walter Nolen of Ole Miss is versatile and a bit raw. I think he could be an excellent complement to Brown. In round 3:  I would love ILB Danny Stutsman from Oklahoma.  He is a beast. With 11 picks, I would package our 4th rounders to move up into the third round and take a QB.  At the moment, I think Rourke is trending upward and he has the skills Canales seems to want in a QB.  Quick processor, quick release. I would use the fifth rounders on OL.  I know that I left out WR--however, we are getting Thielen back, XL will be improved, Coker will be improved, and Moore has been surprisingly good.  Sanders (TE) has been more than expected in the passing game.  I think we need D more than WR, and maybe we can get a veteran WR to sign or find a hidden gem late.
    • Wouldn't be surprised if he starts a couple Jets games this year with the way the Rodgers thing is going. Giants fans are pissed they didn't keep him lol. He might actually have a little bit of a market.
