Ref says Newton's contact wasn't malicious

He was upset over a series of late hits that were not called. On the last, after he threw the ball the defender drove him into the ground and no call was made. He got up and let the ref know about it, might've made contact with him. He got a flag and that was it. Nothing you dont see guys like Brady and Eli do from time to time.

He was going after a Raider thug (#34) who kept doing some extracuricular crap at the end of every tackle on Newton. The ref stepped in between and Cam said something to him and bumped him (unintentionally as he was going after #34).

Why I'm not surprised that the Ref is defended but Cam gets thrown under the bus from what looks like a misunderstanding? Some of u are just as bad as the media.

I simply don't get the over reaction on this site over every thing Cam does. It's like they r so obsessed with critiquing everything he does, they miss the full picture.

It was dumb Cam could have been ejected. Steve Smith was ejected for the exact type of reaction towards a ref 4 or 5 years ago. Cam should have gotten in the players face not the refs.

The ref said Cam wasn't being malicious, that should be the end of it.
