I'll eventually get a mock draft up (probably about a month before the draft), I usually watch much more college football but since I started working I didn't have enough time to unless I got to watch them while I was in the football center, also it helped that the Heels had a postseason ban so my heart wasn't too attached to the college game this year.

However, if I can toot my own horn. My mock draft was pretty successful, I correctly picked three of the guys we drafted (Kuechly, Adams, and Alexander). Also if I can say so myself, I called the Cam Newton (I was turned on to Cam by a friend that works at Auburn) pick an astonishing 7 months before the draft and I called the Kuechly pick 4 months before it happened; so when I finally do get it up, please check it out.

In the first, I'm pretty much down to Richardson, Jenkins, Warmack, and Fisher. I believe it will be a defensive tackle or an offensive lineman because usually those positions can just fit right in and learn on the fly. I have learned that rookie receivers usually take more time to develop (perfect example: Justin Blackmon and Cecil Shorts who is in his second or third year are just coming into there own).

Beyond the first round, you know more than I do. However, a lot of people are throwing Phillip Adams name around, so I will definitely check him out.

I wouldnt consider Lafell in this conversation as someone who could be very good in the future. I really believe he'll be gone and forgotten about pretty soon.

Though back to our conversation, I'd have to disagree with you. Here's why:

Going back to 2008, here is how it looks from the 1st and 2nd rounder receivers who are high prospects coming out only

(2009) Jeremy Maclin 56 773yds 4tds, Percy Harvin 60rec 790yds 6tds, Hakeem Nicks 47rec 790yds 6tds, Kenny Britt 42rec 701yds 3tds (not including DHB and Crabtree)

(2010) Dez Bryant 45rec 561yds 6tds

These receivers had pretty good impact in their rookie season. Other than Green and Julio, all are very good stats. I believe that if a receiver is projected highly as a 1st or 2nd rounder that they will be able to have some impact as a rookie. Im not going as far down for a 4th rd. or later prospect bc they'll def needs more time to develop and sometimes theyre guys listed as inactives in their rookie season. A highly projected receiver may not always give you the AJ Green impact but they will def be good enough as a no.2 wr. They will have some impact and I dont believe that they need more times to develop.

That's what you want. A guy that is drafted to be your no.1. No team draft a WR to be a no.3 or 4.

And no way to waiting a couple year to draft Smitty successor. We should've done drafted one two three years back. We need one now and I can proudly say buh bye to Lafell. Brandon isn't going to be our no.1 or even no.2. He shown it that he's capable of disappearing in games and at beast a no.3.

To me Brandon is a capable number two, personally my guy is Marquis Lee (USC, unanimous All-American and winner of the Biletnikoff Award) so I can wait another year.

We have seen what this offense can do (with the pieces we have in place now) when Chud calls a good game. This offense can make it to the playoffs with the the wide outs and tight ends it has.

I personally would like to focus on shoring up the offensive line, defensive line, and secondary. If we fix those three things in this years draft and free agency, then I personally would trade up to draft Marquis Lee (much like Atlanta did with Julio Jones last year).

I for one would take Aaron Dobson out of Marshall in this years draft (cut ties Gettis and Adams) and sign Johnny Knox

Then trade up to draft Lee next year.

Cam newton was a no brainer. Anyone that knew our coach was Ron Rovera and that our owner is JR knew that we were drafting Kuechly months in advance if he was available.
