I was never a fan of Rivera,I was so pissed when we hired him.He is not a leader of men period.Any guy who can't lead doesn't deserve to be a head coach. He shows no emotion on the sideline and looks like a fugging fool with thos dumb fug shades.I hate looking at that mofo on gameday.

I will be so mad if we bring his bum @$$ back for another year.

It's clear that Rivera let Chud have his way with the offense. Out of everything, that is the main thing that killed us this year. Not that I care to have Rivera back, but if we can change offensive coordinators, I'll take that. Plus, and I continue to emphasize this, it will keep Chip Kelly far away from this franchise. I think if we do begin a search for a new coach, I fear Kelly might be high on the list for some reason. I don't see another HC that's turning heads out there, and I don't want Kelly at all, so Rivera is the safe choice. (Of course it keeps this defense together with Rivera here as well, so a new offensive coordinator will be perfectly fine.)

i'm not sold on rivera but i'd rather give him another year than hire somebody else that i have no faith in and possibly/probably set the franchise back another 3 years. i've seen what multiple coaching changes do to young QBs and it ain't pretty... not a single one comes out well. the team has played better than it did last year and they appear to be hitting their stride... teams understanding our unit, some bad coaching and a shiat load of bad luck has us where we are right now... I don't know what next year will hold but I feel pretty confident that if all that happens is our luck turns around we have 9+ wins next year.

if we're gonna hire somebody, i wanna hire them because they'll improve the team... not because we don't love the guy we have now.

I think we'll lose to the Saints and reality will set back in.

Huddlers have the memory of an ant.

Nah....they ran up the score setting records the last time we went to NO. Same week in the season we meet this year....

Last game of last season will give them similar motivation they had vs Atlanta IMO. Saints won't have any fuel to throw on the fire

Now that Shaw is staying at Stanford, keeping Rivera is probably the best choice, mostly for our defense sake. I don't think Rivera has that much impact concerning Cam, but I agree with you. However, I think we can do much better with a new offensive coordinator. Hopefully Chud will get that new HC job this year, and we pick up a guy with some sense. What Chud did to the offense this year, was the equivalent of a new coaching staff coming in for us, and learning a new system if you ask me. We get someone in there who knows how to use our runners, and this offense will take off.

i was never sold on shaw anyway... but that's neither here nor there. i'd much prefer have somebody like turner than chud but honestly, if chud runs the offense the way he's been running it recently, i have no problem with him staying. I agree that it was a step back though and is indicative of what I'm talking about.

I don't know what got into Chud this year, the man just went insane and wanted to make a name for himself with Cam. Tried to make this offense a one man show, when we got serious talent being wasted away in our runners. Lately, he's been giving the ball to D-Will and Tolbert. Once Stew come back, if he comes back for these last two games, we may see what we should have been seeing throughout this year.

I don't know if I'm prepared to give Chud another chance next year. There's really no explanation and no excuse for what he did, and no excuse for Rivera letting him do what he did. If I was JR, it would be hard for me to give Chud another year. I've said before I felt like this season was pretty much sabotaged. Nonetheless, if I knew Chud would go back to "2011 Chud", I'd be willing to keep him for another year. Yet I don't know about him. Let's just say I wouldn't miss him if another team made him their HC.

I think hindering our offense and Cam's abilities for over half of the season and not changing until we were out of the playoffs should be enough to want him fired. Rivera gets a couple wins when our season is done and suddenly we want to keep everybody.

Nobody said everybody..Personally I would prefer to keep Wilks,Rivera,Belin,Washington and Shula.. Those aspects of our team have all played extremely well. The rest have been ok or bad.

One guy I think may need to go is Kern.. since he got here we have had SOOOOOOO many injuries and a few out of shape players.(Otah and Robinson are part of his resume)

Why can't some of you guys realize that the fire was lit because "JOBS" are on the line. Rivera hasn't shown any type of improvement from last year to this year. The only improvement I have seen is the improvement on the defensive side of the ball. Why can't you guys realize what happen to get us to this point? First we start off out the gate slow, we come out unmotivated and undisciplined. On top of all that we changed our whole entire offense. I wonder who let Chud do that?

Look, man, Rivera is still a relatively new HC. He had to learn and settle into the job. He had to realize that he is the man, period. It's a transition. The light doesn't come on for all people at the same time. I don't care if it was the cold hard reality of jobs being on the line that lit a fire up under the man. We are winning now, and (unlike last year) I believe we have really gotten over a hump because it truly has been a trial by fire (or a trial to stop from being fired). Rivera, the young coaching staff and team are that more seasoned and experienced, and realize what it takes to win with consistency because of getting drunk off unexpected "success", and then suffering failure due to unrealistic expectations. It's all a process. There had to be a realization, then self-actualization, and now we are hopefully seeing the maturation of not only Rivera, but Chud, Derm, individual players, and the team as a whole.

Do you really want to risk breaking that continuity when we are seeing real promise after everyone coming to their senses and learning what it takes to truly compete at a top level?

We are close, people. I am thinking that a coaching change sets us back for at least three years. The relatively small risk of giving Chico a third year is worth the possible reward in my opinion.

...Hack Riviera now and get a new coach and its another 2 years in the shtter at a minimum while he installs his own system. Rivera has more football knowledge in his little finger than 90% of the people on this board. This was the first full year he has had with the team. We are close to being a good football team... we have been in the position to win games but players are human and havent made the plays when needed... if so...we are 11-3... Like i said before, we dont want to get on the coaching carousel... we need stability and direction...we need to get out of cap hell and start drafting players that can contribute from the get go...no more fkin projects.
