To sign Ellis right now, you wouldn't have to cut a currently rostered DE. A spot could be made cutting a scrub at another position (LB or DB, for example).

Once it gets to training camp, whoever plays the best stays.

I can't get excited about Ellis. We have young talent. I'd rather see them play.

Ellis could replace Brayton, and I wouldn't complain to much, but he'd still be nothing but a stop gap, and I'd rather we develope our d-line, than add an aging anchor.

We need to be giving these young guys some reps and not any veterans who can only do a couple mediocre seasons for us and charge us what we should have paid to hangman.
