speaking of rest stop glory holes...

my wife and i witnessed our first rest stop weirdness this summer... in jersey we stopped at one of the pull off's that didn't have restrooms to let our dogs stretch and go to the bathroom. and just plain as day we watched a trucker walk down a tiny little path in the woods, find a small hole in the fence and just walk off into the woods. can't even imagine what he was headed for

When I hitch hiked back from Wyoming ( years ago ), I spent the weekend in Ishpeming in the UP. Lots of beer, skiing, beer, parties, and beer.

As for long rides, I did a five-week road trip around the USA three summers ago. Best time of my life. But some days I'd drive 9-12 hours to get to the next destination. Brutal after the third week.

A buddy and me drove from Seattle to NC and we had a blast! I would do it again tomorrow! If I had to do it with a woman and two kids, things would probably be a little different.

My brother and I drove from San Diego to Charlotte many years ago. We were high on crank most of the time. One leg of the trip we did 1,000 miles before we finally stopped (albequerque to memphis). Good times, good times...
