No one talks about or gives a shyt how many yards per game the 85 Bears or 2001 Ravens Defenses gave up.

It's how few points they allowed.

Eh, I think YPG has its place. PPG doesn't take into account STs or offensive turnovers leading to a short field. I don't disagree that PPG is a better overall indicator though.

what is the scoring percentage of offenses against our defense? I would assume that would be a great indicator of how good our defense is.

also we need a big fat fug in the middle of our D-line, and we need a stud in our secondary.

We're 16th in Y/P.

We're a middle of the pack, inconsistent defense. But we're not top ten even if we are by yardage, which is misleading. At the very least I'd certainly take the 49ers, Seattle, Steelers, Broncos, Bengals, Chicago, Jets, Cardinals (criminally underrated defense - too bad their offense is trash), Rams, and Texans defense over ours. We've been about on par with Baltimore though as a defense, which is surprising. Baltimore's defense has just fallen off a cliff compared to what we're used to. Even when they had L. Webb and Ray Lewis, they were struggling. I remember Chiefs running at will on them.
