does he have an accorsi connection?

what's this guy's credentials?

what has he done?

this organization is in need of a shake up so what do we do? promote from within. best way to maintain the status quo, imo, and it makes the whole hiring of accorsi a sham.

it's a horrible idea on so many levels.

i just hope this is just another case of yas talking out of his ass.

How do any of you here know whether he would be a good choice or not?!? Leave it to the guys whos job it is to decide these things.....christ. You never know, Beane may lead us to the promised land.

or not... that whole 4 win season thing since 95 should say otherwise..

Being contrarian entertains me, with that said the idea wasn't to make myself seem smart or witty, (heaven forbid the day I bases any of my self worth on message board) I'm trying to change the course of the conversation on this board. and get people to think outside the box, my actual thoughts on the matter and what I argue sometimes are two different things.

if only what you argued wasn't poorly constructed

It's like my Rivera topic about a month back, everyone thought then I was crazy for bringing it up, but now people are starting to look at it as if it could be a reality. I got people thinking which is more then many can say. and I only started that out of the fact I was tired of seeing the "Fire Rivera now!!!!!" post for the millionth time that week.

nobody got thinking because you posted about keeping rivera. the only reason people are talking is because we're in the midst of our annual late period sweeps campaign under no pressure to make the playoffs so as much people as possible keep their jobs and restore fan confidence part of the season. Same old poo, different year.

I'd bet if Beane gets GM title we bring in someone as Director of Player Personnel or similar titled talent evaluator. I'd be fine with that. Just cause a guy can evaluate talent doesn't mean he can handle all the other stuff GMs have to do.

Jason La Canfora

From what I have heard, former Giants GM Ernie Accorsi, who is aiding the Panthers in their GM search, is pushing long-time Giants exec Dave Gettleman. But that would be another spot when pairing a young GM with a young coach like Denver offensive coordinator Mike McCoy makes sense as well.

Dave Gettleman, who is New York's pro personnel analyst, has quality credentials as well. He isn't talked about in the media as much as other members of New York's front office, with Mark Ross getting lots of attention and some interviews in recent years -- another hidden gem. But if Panthers owner Jerry Richardson skews a little older, and wants more experience, Gettleman's 15 years with the Giants and 25 years in the league go a long way.
