Uh oh. Pat Y might just have dropped a bombshell. Get ready for Beane as GM

Here is my thinking. JR wants to give Rivera another year. JR doesnt want to be in a awkward position when he interviews a potential GM by saying "BTW, if I hire you I have 2 rules. You must not pick your own QB and you also must not pick your own HC because we are keeping Rivera." So if Rivera stays it makes the most sense to let Beane ride it out for a year, let the coaching stay, give Rivera power on who he signs cuts, drafts etc and see where the cards end up falling next season. If we dont make the playoffs, THEN JR will really drop the hammer and fire everyone and bring in a new GM, coaching staff etc

How do any of you here know whether he would be a good choice or not?!? Leave it to the guys whos job it is to decide these things.....christ. You never know, Beane may lead us to the promised land.

14 losing seasons out of 18 says maybe they shouldn't be deciding these things

I'm talking about prior organizational success dictating future success of people attached to the said organization, that was the point, apparently it went right over your head.

Apparently my point about comparing apples to oranges went right over your head, just like the idea that simply being contrarian doesn't exactly make you smarter did

Really the point that I'm getting at is that when it comes to personnel managers, you generally don't want to promote from within unless you already have a well-working system in place. Dimitroff worked with the Patriots prior to being hired by Atlanta, Marc Ross worked with the Eagles before being hired by New York. Pioli had a background with Parcells in the 90s before being brought in by New England. So there's three examples that actually are personnel managers. Maybe people would take you more seriously if you stayed on subject and weren't busy snake-oil selling and going "HURR HUURRRR WHO KNEW COACH K!!! I AM AN GENIUS"

Being contrarian entertains me, with that said the idea wasn't to make myself seem smart or witty, (heaven forbid the day I bases any of my self worth on message board) I'm trying to change the course of the conversation on this board. and get people to think outside the box, my actual thoughts on the matter and what I argue sometimes are two different things.

It's like my Rivera topic about a month back, everyone thought then I was crazy for bringing it up, but now people are starting to look at it as if it could be a reality. I got people thinking which is more then many can say. and I only started that out of the fact I was tired of seeing the "Fire Rivera now!!!!!" post for the millionth time that week.
