Uh oh. Pat Y might just have dropped a bombshell. Get ready for Beane as GM

what exactly has he done to prove he's not? he was a low profile Panthers FO guy till Hurney got fired, we basically know nothing of the guy at this point and anyone that claims otherwise I lol @.

As I said in my other post I don't really care who we get for GM, as long as he ends up being the right guy. and at this point it's anyones guess.

I think the point here that everyone is trying to make is that they are tired of the "what ifs, maybes, and wait and sees" regarding this franchise. It wouldnt be a big deal if the front office had been more successful in their decision making over the years but by the time they accept\realize that the wrong choice was made another few seasons will have passed. OR in Hurney's case, a DECADE.

Why are people acting like Pat Y is Nostradamus or something for saying we'd draft Kuechly? There was a report coming out around or after the combine that we really like Kuechly and considering everything, it was sort of obvious to me he had a good chance of getting drafted by us. The only reason people here denied it is because a lot of people for some reason didn't like him.

first pick last year was offense. made sense it would be defense this year.

kueckly was the best defensive player on the board. many thought that it wasn't filling a need, but apparently it was. too good a player to pass up. didn't take a genius to see that.

Plus uncertainty about Beason (now known to have been justified).

As mentioned, Yasinskas famously screwed the pooch predicting that Mike McCoy was a lock for the OC job, so any suggestions that he's Nostradamus are pretty thin

Heck, I think Yasinskas even suggested McCoy was a candidate for the head coaching job last time.

True and have people forgotten that we would've picked Barron over kuechly if they were both still on the board? Lets see how this all plays out first before automatically anointing Beane as our next GM my god

So if Rivera is fired, what's the over/under on how long it takes Yasinskas to declare Mike McCoy the leading candidate to replace him?

first chance he gets.

Which, I don't know that Yas is a bad reporter, specifically. I think he just gets too caught up in what agents feed him. The only way the Beane bit is plausible, is if JR has somehow gained an exceptional level of patience and would want to see Rivera get another year.

The Rivera part is gaining ground I guess - a little success can turn around that bit about JR not necessarily wanting Rivera/blaming Rivera on Hurney, however you want to call it. But patience? No. And Accorsi isn't interested in Beane, and that's who'll be recommending who to hire obviously.

I'm guessing Beane has an agent. That was my first thought when I saw this bit from Yasinskas.

Could easily be pure speculation though. As written, it sounds like unsourced opinion.

Well if that's true, I'll be heading for the door. It'll confirm that JR is a cheap out of touch bastard and only cares about his money instead of winning. I can't support that.

Hiring a consultant to give you more options then deciding to go with a different option of your own does not make you a 'cheap out of touch bastard.' In fact, quite the opposite.
