Uh oh. Pat Y might just have dropped a bombshell. Get ready for Beane as GM

I also think there’s a growing chance interim general manager Brandon Beane moves into that role on a permanent basis.

I just got home and read the "article". Its pure speculation at this point. If this came up in the off season then yeah it would be interesting but we haven't even interviewed other candidates yet.

JR might have known all along Beane was the guy. What doesnt make sense is if we hire Beane, why then did we fire Hurney to begin with? To motivate the team to win more? We havent won much since Hurney was fired and I dont see Beane making the tough decisions such as trading a aging Gross, trading D Will or Stewart and so on and so forth. Might as well bring back Hurney or have JR become Jerry Jones 2.0.

I really dont think Pat would make such a off a wall comment like keeping Beane as GM if he didnt hear any inside info

Accorsi is really just a consultant....

If JR decides he wants one more year of Rivera.....Accorsi could easily advise then if that is what JR wants then promoting from within and keepin on keepin on to a degree makes the most sense

Can't be perfect all the time, i'll be the first to say my arguments haven't been perfect, but I do find it a good bit more thought provoking then the thousands of "(insert name here) sucks!" posts that this forum has been inundated with for basically the entire season since the Giants game.

No I'm pretty sure it's had some effect, normally a team still 1 win less then last season doesn't exactly drive fans to think the Coach should return. and it's been a topic for discussion every week out side of the KC game since I posted it. Again the whole thought was to get people to think outside the box, and back up thier point of view with a argument. most of the replies I was getting a month ago was "well because he sux" now people like you are actually starting use grounded arguments.

if you don't like the message don't shoot the messenger, argue with him. It is the purpose of a forum after all to express differing points of view.

Um ok your analysis of the forum doesn't sound the least bit authoritative at all unless your perception was taken as gospel so I'm going to go with the idea that people have been offering a lot more than just one liners. Hundreds of angles have been taken to evaluate Rivera on this forum since the season started. Most of them are unfavorable. You choose to downplay those and highlight more primitive responses if you want since it suits the role you play.

The trade deadline was literally one week after hurney got fired. Do you really expect that the interim GM was going to just start trading players as soon as he got the role in midseason no less?

What im saying is, will Beane be able to be unbias since he is from the same cloth as Hurney so when the time does come to start trading in the off season will he pull the trigger?

fug. I got tired of reading this poo (somewhere on page 6).

All I got to say is that there was once a time when we were an organization not to be taken lightly, so I don't think that everyone in the FO just got stupid all of a sudden. The biggest screw ups over the last few years was overpaying some players and gambling with next years draft picks on players that didn't pan out. These problems were squarely on Marty Hurney's shoulders. That being said, all this talk of fresh blood is understandable to a point, but what some of you should realize is that sometimes the best perspective about problems and solutions within an organization can and does come from an underling within the organization because that person has a 50-yardline seat to the inner workings of the organization.

Now, this is not to say that I think Beane is a good hire...I don't know. But where I differ from many of you is that I don't think that the whole of the FO is bad because I have seen some good stuff over the years. It's not all bad. I believe that there are some within the FO that knows what the hell they are doing, and (call me crazy) the team's play the last month makes me extremely reluctant to declare this or that move as the worst move ever. I will be good with whatever they decide to do, and hope for the best. If others want to leave, I say good riddance. Hitch your hook onto another bandwagon.

Just remember that sometimes blowing the mofo up is not the best option, but if that's the way we will roll I will have enough maturity as a fan to realize that it may be another few years until we get to where we want to go. Perhaps we lose a year if we retain Beane as GM (and/or Rivera as coach), but, then again, perhaps the reward of more timely success is worth that risk. No one knows the answer.

Yasinskas engages in pure speculation on a regular basis.

You'll notice the article says "I think", not "I'm hearing" and not "sources tell me", unlike Jason LaCanfora's statement about Dave Gettleman ("from what I have heard").

I don't see it as any different than when he kept saying Mike McCoy was a lock for offensive coordinator. He was full of it back then too.
