another misguided "little person" who's heart cries out for some sort of moral victory. You can do it guys win out and bring back the mediocre team as last season and give the same effort.

So lets say you are a player on the Panthers. You would rather lose out to gain a top 10-15 pick that may or may not pan out instead of heading into next season with momentum? You are everything that is wrong with this fan base.

And u would be a horrible owner. Whats best for the franchise and the fan base is not a win that makes is fell warm wanting to hug each other. A great plater means more to the next ten years than one win. Ur whats wrong with this fanbase. Look at the cowboys they ve been doing the 7-9 9-7 thing for years and its gotten them exactly what its gotten us. Nothing. Building a strong future is not whats wrong with this team sorry sir.

This isn't the same as the cowboys.

They have a delusional owner that is it's GM and thinks he knows it all. Making Coaches work for their jobs each year... kinda like Ummm... Ron Rivera.

The whole team is playing for their jobs possibly with maybe a new coaching staff coming in and the new GM isn't even set yet.

I don't see where there is really a choice for the players or coaches on this team to loss for a draft pick.

That's insane to me.

Win out, save some jobs, lose others and let the new GM sort it out.

You're right. Look at how long the Lions, Bills, and Browns have been picking at the top of the draft. Surely all those great players have led them to winning seasons. Oh wait

While it didn't work out last year, historically finishing strong one year even in a 7-9 losing year has boded well for us the following year. I remember finishing strong in 2004 and it was mentioned by players as the impetus for our run in 2005. Then in 2007, we finished pretty well in 2007 and it really set the tone for 2008 even with a diminished Jake. Since then though the wheels have come off.

Still the benefit the team will receive by finishing strongly will more than outweigh the few spots we may lose in the draft this year

There are other examples like the 49ers. Look what suck for luck did for the colts, the redskins and bob griffin. Yes the draft can make or break ur team believe it or not...

    • he averaged 2 yards in YAC per reception last year.  He can't generate quick separation.  He was debating retirement last year.    Yet we championing him as some great option.  AT is a savvy vet we force feed the ball too......on a team starved for basic offense the last couple seasons.  We overrated AT.  Which is why some freak when people like JT on his podcast point out the painfully obvious about him.
    • The Athletic has us ranked 28th on their post-draft power rankings, mainly due to us picking T-Mc instead of defense in round 1. They recognize we needed WR help, but... https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6317651/2025/04/29/nfl-power-rankings-post-draft-rookies-eagles-chiefs-bills/
    • I mean, he is a slot technician.  That's what he does.  So, in a good offense, you would be trotting him out there on 3rd downs and situationally.....to not take what they give him but to move chains.  It's a niche.  AT hasn't threatened defenses in years.  Last time we saw Renfrow on the field he averaged..... 6 yards YAC per catch.  Adam Thielen last year averaged....2 yards in YAC per catch last year.  I still contend in reality, AT isn't a slot WR.  Not in reality.  He is an aging rec TE.  And those aren't the same thing.  AT simply can't generate quick separation or provide YAC.
