Do we re-sign Munnerlyn?

Dead. Dont care about names, money, draft status, just production. Again he is the best

And by a production standpoint thomas gets a number of penalties for being over aggressive and is better at covering the run than the pass while good not the best by any means.

I record my sig stats from watching rather than just copying what they put on nfl.com So I pay a lot of attention to the secondary. I would rank our db's as follows based solely on level of play. Gamble,Cap,Thomas,Godfrey,Martin,Campbell,Norman,Dockery,Jones,Nakamura

Re-sign Cap if he agrees to a reasonable number. If not, let him walk. We have to stop overpaying our guys.

I become more sure every week that we will opt to let Gamble go this offseason. Given the play of Josh Thomas and the way our d-line makes the job easier, that $10+ million in cap space would go a long way to helping in other areas.

That's not to say Chris isn't a very good corner, because he is. I just think we could make better use of that money elsewhere.

I like those PI calls. I've been tired of Gamble's 10 yard cushions for years.

so am I, I just know last year as a dedicated #2 corner, quarterbacks complete around 76.2% of their passes on him and they had over 100 quarterback rating throwing at him.

---- update -----

those numbers were the worst in the league.

I think (and hope) that everyone understands Cap is a nickle, nothing more. He is at his best closer to the LOS.

Gotta keep the Captain.

Josh Norman. Eric Reid. Charles Godfrey. Chris Gamble.

Jon Beason. Luke Keuchly. James Anderson.

Charles Johnson. Dwan Edwards. Ron Edwards. Greg Hardy.

With Thomas Davis and Captin Munnerlyn coming off the bench?! Oooohh weeee maaaayne. That sounds like a top 5 defense to me.

Well Dwan is getting older so now it's time to use that 1st round pick on a quality nose tackle.

You could say the same thing about Ron Edwards. I think we can get another year of solid play out of both of them, with Kearse, Nebbles and Fua developing on the bench. Free safety is the weakest link in our team and I think we need to address it first in the draft.
