Rivera will be back

Recommended Posts

I know things have looked up the 2nd half of the season. We finished last season with things looking up as well. That didn't go so well for us.

I hope he's not back.

I like Rivera but I do not want him to continue as the coach of this team. I hope the people making the decisions don't drink the KoolAid. He has made enough damaging mistakes that have nothing at all to do with the talent available to him that I feel like the evidence is there that he's just not a good HC...at least not a good one for us.

Exactly. I agree!!!!

He has not done enough with the talents given.

Seeing how SF utilizes Kaepernick make me sick to wonder how much better Cam can be. Cam hasn't even reach his full potential yet. The ceiling is still so high for Cam. I wish we get an offensive minded guy like Greg Roman in here to utilize Cam to his full potential.

Chargers put out Marty Shot after a 14-2 season. No One knows what will happen to Rivera. My only worry is he gets fired after year 3 and we suck with our new coach and there goes Cam... Call me silly I guess

.

But if Rivera was serious about this process and if its acually comming around then let the man stay. This dude has pushed through alot of poo this season.

Anyone know what Norv Turner's December W-L record is since drafting RIvers? 24-5... In 7 years as the head coach, the Chargers have lost 5 games in December... and he'd getting shown the door.

Rivera has yet to show he can win games he's supposed to (Kansas City), while at the same time losing 6 of the schedule's first 7 games, 5 of which the Panthers had a lead.

Winning 3 out of the last 4 when you were already 2-8 is not some major accomplishment and to suggest Ron Rivera earned himself some more time on the payroll for posting yet another losing season is ludicrous and simply puts on display for the entire league just how easily accepted "less than mediocre" is in Charlotte.

Sure, go ahead and keep Rivera another year. At least he's consistent, starting both his years 2-8 and likely ending up 6-10 as well. At least everyone who follows football will then know just how high the expectation level is in Charlotte. And it will also confirm the widely-held belief that Jerry Richardson's view of success versus the fan base's view is completely skewed.

I wonder how the players would answer this question.I wonder if they feel if Rivera can take them to the promise land. Just dont ask Gettis. To me it seems at the first of the season the offensive players were not on board but now it appears they are coming around more

Look at it like this...

If Cam doesn't throw into the dirt against Seattle, we'd have a shot at 8-8.

If Smitty does not slip against Chicago, we'd have a shot at 9-7.

If Cam does not fumble against Dallas, we'd have a shot at 10-6.

If Nakamura wasn't so stupid against Atlanta, we'd have a shot at 11-5.

I could go on and on. Yes, there were some stupid coaching decisions. But we have also had a lot of bad luck in terms of late screw ups by the players on the field. I say give Rivera another year if we finish strong by winning these last three. Remember, Rivera did say that he would make personnel changes if he could, Marty just would never give him the types of players he wanted.

Good point. The players themselves have lost some of these games.Nakamura is all about a lack of talent Rivera inherited. Cam is still only in his second season so it is easy to just throw Rivera under the bus. I think it will be a tough call considering the risk of bring in another coach and possibly gutting the team. I am starting to think with another year of adding talent and another year of experience with Cam we may be on the verge of being a contender.Do you really want to start all over?

Get Rivera out of here PLEASE. Records ARE the indicator of progression and he has NOT progressed. You can find plays, players and more excuses all you want, for every single game ever played, but Rivera has shown he cannot coach much more than he has shown any competence when it matters most. If JR keeps him it will be all season long... *shutters*.

It wouldn't surprise me if he stays.

Doubt Chud would be gone if Rivera stays.

For some reason these guys feel like if Rivera return he will just fire Chud. That's not going to happen, the only way Chud leaves is if Rivera gets fired or he lands a HC gig. If any team hire Chud for HC it would be ludicrous.
