This is the essence of our "bend but don't break" defense. Our secondary was regarded as the strength of our defense early in the season. I'll agree that we need to get Smitty the ball in space more, but I most definitely will not agree with this:

More often than not, Smitty wins those jump balls. It has more to do with his timing and where he places his body in relation to the defender. There's probably a reason Jake is notorious for throwing high: he knows Smith will catch those balls in most cases.
