Giants have nothing to play for this week..

Not necessarily true. That assumes that we win as well. If they win and we don't this week, then next weeks game is irrelevant and they win homefield even if we beat them as long as they win their last game.

It's not irrelevant then if they would still have to win their last game.

well, the Giants definitely have alot to play for... momentum primarily, and... if they lose to Dallas and Minnesota, and Tampa wins out and beats New Orleans and New Orleans and Atlanta win both of their other games, with a little help, Tampa and NY could end up with the same Division record and almost identical strength of schedules, depending on a few other factors, and it could come down to some very close numbers and a matter of who wins and loses, and I know we don't want to leave it to that. Jacobs will sit out this week, of course, which has already been announced, but part of that decision is because the Cowboys defense is severely banged up with several key players out. we need Jacobs healthy for the playoffs. Coughlin will definitely still start all his guys up to the last game of the season though, and they know that... you guys worry about winning this week before you even worry about us, ok?

If we win tomorrow and they lose, then the winner of next weeks game has homefield throughout the playoffs. On the other hand, if we both win tomorrow, and then we beat them next week, they could still have homefield if we lose to New Orleans and they win their last game.

So tomorrow's game does matter to them, in a round about way.

1) they want to have homefield advantage

and the bigger one....

2) they don't want carolina to have homefield advantage.

they have to win out to keep that from happening.

You are assuming we'll win out as well. Not likely. We could very well lose one between then and now.

This is ironic coming from a fan of a team the Panthers don't play until a week from now. If anyone is looking ahead, it's you.

So maybe you should find a Cowboys message board until tomorrow night.

I'm part of a message board for every team in the NFC as well as all the AFC teams we have played this year... I love football and I love talking football with people... trust me, if I was looking ahead you'd be hearing alot more trash talking from me than you have so far lol... seriously though, I'm a very down to earth guy, and very realistic. I'm a die hard Giants fan, but I don't view things with Big Blue blinders on... football is football. The Giants have alot to play for, but homefield throughout honestly isn't a huge deal to us (we've only lost 2 games, one on the road, one at home)... more than anything it's the momentum going into the postseason. what I'm curious to is how you all are going to stop Brandon Marshall... you don't have a single cornerback that can match up with him.

I was just messing with you (kind of ;) ). The truth is we all like to look ahead a bit.

I know what you mean about homefield not being a big deal. Normally I'd say the same thing about the Panthers, but we've been a much better team at home this year.

While Marshall is good, I hardly think he is unstoppable. Chris Gamble should match up pretty well on him, though I'm sure he'll get some decent yardage regardless.

Maybe you missed MNF, but Antonio Bryant had 200 yds against us. That's unacceptable...but you may have heard who won that game.

BTW, you have nobody to match Steve Smith. But as I'm not worried about Marshall, you're not worried about Smith I bet. So, your point is meaningless.

oh, I'm worried about smith. He hurts us every time in YARDS, but never in touchdowns, and he never will until Fox learns how to use him... he's trying to use him like Lovie Smith is trying to use devon hester. Smith is an incredible receiver, BUT he is short... they should be getting him the ball in the middle of the field in space or on misdirections in space, or on screens.. let him use his quickness and natural ability to make people miss and he will be much more potent for you, as well as score more touchdowns than he will trying to outrun people for long balls. we have an excellent secondary with Webster, who will be on Smith, and Ross, arguable the best up and coming safety in the NFL, backing him up, we should be able to keep him in check. The difference is, Brandon marshall is gonna be able to get those jump balls against your cornerbacks all day... that is what is gonna hurt you. With Smith, the times he wins a jump ball are significantly less because of his height. I would be more scared if we were playing Denver tbh.
