We will be picking between 9 and 14

We will easily find another star player in the 12-16 picks.

Warmack is the can't miss OG prospect, don't know if he will be available though, or if our new GM feels comfortable taking a G that high.

If we are looking at a DT, Jesse Williams and Louis Nix are both big NTs that will be on the rise.

The only DBs worth taking that high are Milliner ad Banks. I really wouldn't mind picking either of these guys cuz both with will be #1 caliber corners.

I really don't like the top receivers, I like the ones with all the potential sitting at the end of the 2nd. Unless someone like Keenan Allen or Justin hunter REALLY emerge as top prospects, I have my eye on Patterson, Patton, Williams, woods, Rodgers, or Hopkins in the second.

I think it will depend on how committed we are to running the ball. A pass blocking guard is easy to find in the mid rounds but if you want that bulldozer they are few and far between.Same with DT...Jessie Williams is certainly one of the best NT but I do not think he could play UT at the same level

We don't need a UT, we found our UT. We do need someone to replace Ron, who is a NT. Williams could be the perfect fit.

Maybe I am a homer but I see us as best of the bad.We could easily win 2 more games and think that would drop us between 9th and 13th.With Star, Luke, and possibly Hankins gone we still have some good options.Possible options are Milliner at cb, Jake Matthews OT,Taylor Leaun OT,Chance Womack OG,.Maybe I am wrong but I do not see Smittys future replacement in the 1st round without making a reach unless Allen shows more speed and flexibility at the combine. We also have a couple of DTs in Richardson and Jessie Williams from Alabama.

Never have understood the fascination with Saban-coached corners who are some of the most under-performing players in the NFL (Jackson, Arenas, Kirkpatrick). The strong front seven on those Bama defenses are what make those teams.

So Bama DL and LB? Gimme gimme...

Bama DB's? No thank you.

Hahaha look at this fugging LSU homer.

Kareem Jackson is a fine DB for te texans, Kirkpatrick is a rookie and just saw the field for the first time recently. And arenas is a solid nickle/returner, they didn't draft arenas high at all.

Alabama has great defensive prospects. Stop being a homer.

You may be correct.Having that front seven makes any cb look better.I was going on scouting reports not on me personally watching games..

I guess that's why I clearly stated that I'd love to see Bama DL and LB on the Panthers... because I'm a "LSU homer"?

Kareem Jackson is average at best... hasnt produced near the worth that a 20th overall pick should have produced by now. Patrick Peterson has 9 ints in less than two years, Jackson has 7 in three. If you'd read any Texans boards over the last 3 years, you'd understand how underwhelming Jackson has been.

Dre Kirkpatrick? 4 total tackles, 0 ints, and 0 passes defended in his rookie campaign. Compare that to Josh Norman, a FIFTH round pick, with 72 tackles, 1 int, and 7 passes defended.

The worse thing about Saban-coached DBs is the time it takes to coach the Saban out of them.

Being an SEC guy myself, I can watch the Bama defenses and understand what makes them great. Here's a hint: it ain't secondary play.

You just don't get it. Your argument about Kirkpatrick is completely idiotic because you fail to see the situation he is in.

Not gonna waste my time with a homer.

The "situation he's in" is that they don't even trust him enough to play nickel back for them... 17th overall pick in the draft and he can't even cover a slot receiver?

And I'm pretty well convinced at this point that you don't have a clue what a homer is. I'm the guy who wanted to draft Trent Richardson last year if he was available when we picked. Big fan of Marcel Dareus. I hope we're in a position to take Williams or any one of the many excellent Bama OL.

But because I don't like Bama DBs and consider them wasted picks, I'm a "homer"... lol.

I am a big SEC fan and have seen most these guys play in person (Jackson, Arenas, Kirkpatrick, Claiborne and Peterson). All these guys have 1 thing in common. Pressure from the front 7. LSU played nothing but man almost all the time. Its the QB did not have time to throw and the cb did not have to cover that long. Same for Alabama. These guys come to the NFL and have to learn how to play other coverages besides press man or off man all the time and it takes them a while to learn.

It you are really looking for cb that can come in and play right away dont look to those 2 schools. Look more at pac 10 schools. They tend to play more complex coverages and more NFL type schemes because they dont have the talent in the front 7 to get after the qb the way SEC schools have.

Just FYI I am a SEC homer but not a LSU or Alabama homer. I have been to games at 6 different SEC schools and hope to make all of them in the next 6 to 8 years or so. This just comes from watching games and seeing them in person.

I feel Williams is a great prospect for a NT but do you spend a high pick top 10 pick on a NT?I am sure many can explain this better than myself but would the UT be considered the more sought out position or do you go after someone who can do both ? I thought D Edwards did a great job this year at UT but I think he is a UFA. I also like where we bring Hardy at DT on passing downs. The NT was REdwards who is older and has been injured but has one more year under contract. Is there someone that could fill both positions? I have no faith that Fuah will ever develop.

Which wr do you see as our future number 1 wr?

I'm a big fan of Patterson out of Tenn. 6'3 205 runs a 4.43. So he is the outside the numbers deep threat target cam would need to give defensives a nightmare.
