Cam wearing Jake Delhomme jersey at practice

I wish people would give Jake the respect he deserves though. He flamed out at the end of his stint here and I was definitely ready for a change but he gave us all a lot of good years and memories. I hope he gets the chance to retire a panther. In our short history he is one of the better players to walk through the doors.

He has five more playoff wins than Matt Ryan.

Nobody can touch Jake's 9 game winning drives from 2003.

Also, before the NGCCG in Seattle, he was by far the highest rated playoff QB of all time. The law of averages worked against him his final two playoff games.

That being said, however, the #17 jersey is cursed.

I felt Jake was pretty efficient in the 2008 season save for the Lions and Raiders game. Then Arizona happened....still nice to see current players honoring the past.

I re-watched a lot of 2008 he was pretty bad the entire season. He just had very solid receiving options as well as a borderline unstoppable running game. He's a gunslinger through and through. Just flies by the seat of his pants.

Would you guys still be open to cutting Clausen to bring in JD to mentor Cam? I think that would be awesome still. Just ways to handle pressure, make him a little more clutch (fingers crossed) just a thought

Um, nope. The past is the past and I really don't Delhomme to be apart of our future at all.

Jake as stated before gave us some great years for undrafted QB that took us to the SB in his first year and another NFC Title game. He was our comeback kid and our version of Bret Farve (GuneSlinger mentality). I watch Jake make some outstanding plays and some heart breacking plays. Him and Smitty were like pees and carrots back in the day. So have some respect for what was at that time the best QB this team has ever seen.
