yeah reid catches some flack because his west coast system was supposedly wordy and overly complicated but i have no doubt whatsoever that he'd be able to craft an offense that would fit cam like a glove.

the offense i like most is the pats "amoeba offense" that kind of mutates into whatever fits their personnel and now they have adopted chip kelly's one word no huddle philosophy.

as far as WCO vs. coryell...i think cam's skill set fits the coryell much better than the WCO, whereas rg3's skill set fits the WCO.

the way the WCO is designed, the QB is naturally going to have a higher completion percentage. it's all built on quick, safe, short, high percentage passes. it's essentially a ball control offense. the only problem is that it takes longer to get downfield, eats up the clock, and can be pretty easily contained by the tampa2.

QBs running the coryell are going to have lower completion percentages because it depends on the QB with a big arm launching missles downfield to make the big play and stretch the field because not only do they have to worry about stopping the big deep pass downfield, they also have to worry about the RB (and in newton's case) the QB running the ball. it's more of a power run game and defenses have to pick their poison.

i think cam's arm and big playmaking ability and nature makes him a much better fit for the coryell. could he run a WCO? maybe, but i don't think you would be using much of his natural talent. he's a guy that takes advantage of situations and in the WCO, there's really not much room for that. cam's a guy that you want improvising...that can be trusted to do so for the most part and i don't think he'd have that freedom to do so in a WCO. it's very confining and very exact requiring precision in every aspect and that's just not cam, nor do i think that's what he needs to be. he's a gunslinger. a big playmaker and with that comes a lot of risk, but it works. it isn't pretty and it doesn't make for good comp % and even makes the QB look sloppy and inefficient, but it's productive.

throughout his career, considering he stays with that system, rg3 is always going to look cleaner and more precise than newton because of the way he's used and the offense they run. cam, while he is and will continue to improve his comp % and accuracy, his numbers are never going to be as clean as rg3, but his production will stay just as high or higher, esp. if he doesn't have some OC trying to fit newton into a box (like chud did most of the season). you give him the freedom to make big plays and he'll make some mistakes along the way. there will be a lot of dropped passes and missed targets, but he'll also be making those big plays that will bring about big wins....again, provided he doesn't have a coaching staff that gets soft at the end and gives away leads by giving the ball to the other team and then giving them an opportunity to blow your D away.

i know and i know they switched to a spread to accommodate Vick, but i'm not sure how happy he's been with that and if he'd be willing to switch again.

This, especially when you factor in his replacement of the WCO seems to have cost him his job this year. Who would want to continue getting away from what worked for them to what got them fired?

People thought "It is what it is" was annoying with Fox. Just wait until they hear "I have to do a better job of putting guys in position to make plays." as the answer to each and every question asked. It's his way of mocking the media.

Reporter: "McCoy sustained a concussion in last weeks game, how long to you expect him to be out?"

Doesn't matter, Andy is headed "home" to San Diego if they finally wake up and get rid of Turner. At least that's where I hope he winds up. Go out there with Rivers and Ryan Matthews and turn that team back into a contender again. Time for him to go in Philly, but I think he will have success wherever he winds up.

Andy's always had a great record, but Cam needs a more conservative approach when it comes to passing the ball. The worry is that Andy will make him air it out and pass it 50 times a game which is what he did with Vick and now doing it with Foles and Cam Newton shouldn't average more than 25 passing attempts per game with his int%.

I like the fact he believes in passing the ball. I hate the fact he is so stubborn he insists on passing so much with inefficient quarterbacks to the detriment of his team.

Then he expects his defense to win games when they have to deal with a -2 turnover margin. His firing of the defensive coordinator only proved to be a scapegoat, when the problem was Vick's turnovers all along. Defense got worse after he fired him. He should have started Foles much sooner. Now he's got his rookie passing 50 times a game without McCoy, without Jackson, without Maclin.

I just think Andy's lost perspective. It's just not a sound, winning, strategy. He needs an accurate, pocket passer(Brees!) to run the type of offense he likes or he's going to have to adjust, but so far his stubbornness tells me he won't.

Jesus. Will somebody ban this guy? We get it, you don't like a "certain type of QB." Now go play in traffic.

Tomlin has had as much if not more success in his short time in Pitt. The Sterlers success is because if LeBeau...not Cowher or Tomlin.

Nope. The Steelers success has a lot to do with Tomlin and Big Ben.
