i've heard him ask some questions in pressers (his voice is pretty recognizable) that you knew he was leading and trying to get some quote he could spin and get retweeted. the guy is always jonesing for a story and he's pretty unintentionally transparent about it. if you don't give him the answer he's looking for he'll keep trying to ask the question to get it.
