I'm black and I understand what Rob was trying to say but he went to far when he basically called him an Uncle Tom. In these interviews RG3 does seem to alway want to disassociate himself with whom he is ..a running quarterback that happens to be black. He didn't want to be compared to Cam, he doesn't want to be known as a running qb but every chance he gets that exactly what hes doing, and he is always bringing up the race card. I don't agree with Rob using his soon to be wife ethnicity or his political stance as his evidence that hes not black enough but I could see what he saying. It not like what Cam said last year about not wanting to be Jamarcus Russell or Vince Young because that had to do more work ethnic.

There is a reason why RG3 is doing that. Probably because of the stereotypes, that has been associated with black quarterbacks over the past decade. Now here's the part a lot of black dudes don't want to face. Some of those are freaking true. Athletic, can run, can throw, but really have been lacking in the passing, efficiency and Football IQ department. Turned over the ball a lot. Or had some character issues off the field.

RG3 is a very accurate, cerebral, efficient passing quarterback who is a student of the game, with an ideal character and personality for an NFL QB.

There really hasn't been any black QB's like him coming out of college over the past decade, and yes that includes Cam. He should aspire to be like Aaron Rodgers, Brady etc, because he's that good of a passer. Freaking 104 NFL passer rating as a rookie, currently tied with Brady at #1 in the NFL. And honestly his touch and accuracy is similar to that of guys like Luck, Rodgers, etc. Same for guys like Colin.

I see no reason why black commentators have an issue with it other than the fact they have vehemently tried to accuse a lot of such criticisms of past black QB's as a result of racism, because they didn't want to accept some were missing the qualities that RG3 and other white quarterbacks display. Not all of it was freaking racism.

RG3 is not getting any of those types of criticism, because he has a complete game. And while Rob might think it's because of "all the work" accomplished by those that came before him or whatever his cause is...I beg to differ....it's because he has shown he is the complete package from a passing department.

Rob's always been a moron. He never seems to understand what it really takes to be an accurate and elite QB in the NFL. Rarely gets his facts right. He doesn't like Tiger Woods because he's not "black enough", yet is too ignorant to be sensitive to the fact he is, in fact mixed, and mixed race people probably want to be embraced and accepted as such: mixed. Not black. Not white. But as they are. He pretty much came out and said his background doesn't matter, he just looked at the color of his skin. So now he's a bigot to boot.

RG3 is a cerebral qb and cam is not? What exactly are you basing that on? RG3 has infact rushed for more yards in his rookie season than cam did in his. Cam is a pocket passer himself first, and run option qb second just like rg3. I don't get why you are trying to say that RG3 is so above cam that he should only compare himself to rodgers or brady.

"What people don't like about that comment is why don't you want to be compared to black QB's when you are a black QB??Why don't you want to be compared to the people that paved the way for you? What is wrong being compared to Warren Moon or Steve McNair??RG3 is so popular he could shed the negatives of being a "black QB". It seems like he wants to run away from being a black QB instead of embracing it."

"I honestly don't think Parker was being offensive. If anything he was offended by RG3's comments about not wanting to be labeled as AA QB. And I feel some kind of way about that too. I guess RG3 and many others think they are doing something and seem to think they will go far and beyond by not being labeled black anything. I m not saying he hates being black. But RG3 needs to realize he will always be seen as a black male regardless. Before he opens his mouth he will be prejudged. It doesn't matter what his GPA was @ Baylor, not having no tats, or evening being with a white woman. Yes he's not stereotypical but it doesn't matter. Instead he should embrace being the black anything first and show people he did it as a black male. For some reason when we get to the top we have to separate and distinguish our selves from one another."

"Welp, when I speak of notable and promising African-Americans who are purposefully helping to defy some of the ill stereotypes that plague our community, I'll oblige RG3 and leave his name out of the conversation."

"Cam Newton is also good, for any QB...and yet RG3 was offended at the notion of being compared to last years Offensive Rookie of the Year, with similar numbers... It one thing to say "I'm a QB, compare me to all QBs"...it's quite another thing to scoff at any comparison to a QB just because that QB is black. That appears to be what RG3 is doing, without regard...."
