Why is everyone jumping on the Rivera Bandwagon?

yeah....i'm not seeing it.

a few people saying just wait and see what he does the rest of the year and a few more who believed he should be given 3 years to see what he can do doesn't exactly make a bandwagon but if you've got to think in terms of extreme positions to make a thread, have at it.

If these people truly believe giving him another year to get things together where were they after the Dallas, Seattle, Chicago, and Tampa Bay game? These ideas where thrown around after a win and not a loss. If that isnt bandwagoning idk what is

i think he's held that position all along. understandable, imo.

i usually feel like that, but in this case i don't think he's shown enough for the new GM to not go out and find his own HC.

i haven't seen the progress that i'd like, but i'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt the rest of this season. it all depends on how well he coaches, if they win out, etc. he has to look really good the last three games and that's to even warrant really being considered for the 2013 season and on.

i've only seen one or two really advocating for rivera. others are just trying to keep an open mind for the rest of this season. some just like giving a coach three years. like i said, not exactly a bandwagon but whatever.

I dont read this everyday like some people, but i did check out the board after the game and it reminded me of a soft core porn...

And after reading today there where more people giving him the benefit of the dout.... Big picture people are feeling better about rivera after this win... For me, this win changes nothing about my opinion about him... He has dug his own grave. Let him lay in it

then you don't know what it is and you probably haven't been paying attention or reading enough because i've seen several holding to that the whole time.

i was pretty dead set against him coming back...and then we beat atlanta and i saw game management i had been hoping to see all year. it did little more than make me notice and give me a reason to take another look...that maybe he got turned that corner, and to be honest i really hope and pray that he has because there is no guarantee that the next coach will be any better and i really don't think it's good for a team to have so much turnover and turmoil and if there's any chance that rivera has actually figured out how to close a game (which for me has been his biggest problem) then i think it's worth it to keep him around for another year...that is unless we have a gem of a HC ready to jump in rather than this potential diamond in the rough we like to call ron rivera, in which case we dump the coal and grab the gem.

My GOD!! We win one game and everyone is ready to give the guy a contract extension.

Im tired of mediocrity!! Bring in someone that can produce!!!

The new GM will make the decisions, not the collective opinion of a messageboard. I really wouldn't worry about it.

You know, there's a part of me that says give him his pink slip. But then, there's another part that steps back and looks at things like injuries, possible influence from the GM, a second-year QB who has really had a very short career playing big boy football (despite his success), a poorly thought out offensive scheme (granted, he took way too long to do something about that), and other factors that contributed to the crappy season we've had. To his credit, the defense has stepped up considerably, and the offense has never really been blown out except in one instance (NYG - make it go away!). I'm as bad as anyone else about wanting instant gratification, and after the excitement I had at the end of last season, I am the first to admit how crushingly disappointing 2012 has been. But RR is just a second year HC too. If he's cut, so be it. However, if he got a third year after "trending upward" for what's left of this one, I wouldn't pull my hair out. That said, he will definitely be on notice in my book (as if anyone cares what I think) if he does get another chance.

I've only seen a few vocal Rivera supporters left around here. One win does not make up for the vast inept coaching that has occured this season. The biggest thing about Rivera's tenure here has been his severe lack of consistency. We still only have 4 wins. Everything that has gone wrong with this team has occured under his watch.

Ask yourself if you see RR taking us to the superbowl? I don't see him as a coach who can get us there. We gotta dump him for somebody who can. That's why this new GM needs to pick the perfect HC/OC combo for cam. Remember Cam is only in his 3rd year as a major starter. He can still be developed without any major blow back on terms of hindering him. We need a new staff.

All I wanted to see was improvement this year. And overall, there hasn't been any. The defense did get a little better, but the offense got significantly worse and special teams stayed the same (bad). I can't imagine anything that could possibly happen in the few remaining games that would change that.

And we still haven't won a close game. While I don't blame all of that on Rivera and the rest of the coaches, I do think its going to take a change in coaches to change the losing mentality that has developed over the last few years. IMO, Rivera should be gond at the end of the season.
