Cam breaking habbit?

Would you consider Cam a pocket passer?

I certainly think he has the ability to be one, and has shown that at times... I actually think that either the coaches have coached him to be more of a pocket passer, or that Cam has decided it's something he needs to do, because there are times when it is obvious he could run and he doesn't... he stands in the pocket and tries to make the pass.

Over the past couple of games, I think his pocket awareness has gotten better.. idk why? Earlier this season he wasn't "feeling" pressure the way he should have been and took some sacks that he shouldn't have imo.

To me, and this point has been made by others, Cam is a better, faster version of Ben Roethlisberger... that's who he compares most to imo. You watch Ben and he has an almost uncanny sense of the pocket and who is around him... he's not a fast or quick guy, but he always seems to find a way out of pressure. If Cam's pocket awareness continues to get better over time... the NFL better look out.

When you compare him to Ben, does it not make you feel worried about his health? Cause Ben's been knock around and out.

No point in worrying... NFL players get hurt, it's part of the game.

So far, Cam has been really good about not unnecessarily exposing himself to big hits. He slides and gets down before he gets hit, plus he's as big or bigger than most of the guys hitting him...

RGIII, as a comparison, is going to get killed. He plays like a running back.

As the French guy and so an ESL i always feel like a Turkey a day before thanksgiving when i am writing a message on an US forum. punch back, rebound but stay nice and you will be ok.

They are noisy but they don't bite much. ;-)

Now that I know it's your third language, you actually did OK with your post.

Welcome to being a panther fan. Curious how that developed.

As for Cam running, well, it's part of who he is. We didn't draft a Peyton Manning. We drafted a QB unlike any that has played the position before. Personally, I'd like to see them tone down the designed runs, but to be honest, some of the most vicious hits he's taken as a pro have come while he was standing tall in the pocket. What they do need, is to teach Cam how to fuging SLIDE instead of his forward flop onto his throwing shoulder that exposes him to additional hits.

I much prefer the forward flop. RG3's latest injury came during a standard slide. There's also a tangible risk of catching your cleats in the turf when sliding feet-first, it's messed up ACLs before.

In summary:

Hey guys, I can't begin to tell you anything about the offense were running, but the problem just has to be with Cam because he doesn't look like those QBs I used to watch when I was a youngin. He does all this crazy new fangled weird stuff that's reserved only for the 9th stage of hell, and frankly I'm tired of it, so how about we start blaming him?
