Trade deangelo Williams for a 5th

Restructure Jon Beasons contract

Restructure Charles Godfrey's contract

Restructure Chris Gambles Contract

Trade back with the bears so they can get Jake Matthews.

DRAFT:

1st Round Eric Reid FS 6-2 212 lbs- best safety in the draft and could give us the answer we need to our safety woes.

2nd Round Kawann Short DT 6-3 315 lbs- A guy who can hold the line and get tackles behind the line of scrimmage.

2nd Round (Bears Pick) Desmond Trufant CB 6-0 186 lbs- A solid CB to add to our young secondary to give us better depth and rotation.

4th Round Gabe Jackson OG 6-4 320 lbs- Since we will probably keep Jordan Gross then we can secure the right guard spot and get a LT next year.

5th Round Joseph Fauria TE UCLA 6-7 255 lbs- Need a solid number 2 TE for Cam to keep the pressure off.

5th Round Johnny Adams CB Michigan State 5-11 178 lbs- Takes the place of Captain as a cheaper option.

6th Round Marques Wilson WR Washington State 6-3 188 lbs- playmaking receiver who is only going late because he quit his team because his coach was being abusive.

COACHING CHANGE:

HC: Bruce Arians

OC: Jason Garret

DC: Brian Van Gorder

POTENTIAL OFFENSIVE LINEUP

QB: Cam Newton

FB: Mike Tolbert

RB: Jonathan Stewart

WR:Steve Smith

WR: Marques Wilson

TE: Greg Olsen

LT: Jordan Gross

LG: Amini Silatolu

C: Ryan Kalil

RG: Gabe Jackson

RT: Byron Bell

POTENTIAL DEFENSIVE LINEUP

DE: Charles Johnson

DT: Dwon Edwards

DT: Kawann short

DE: Greg Hardy

CB: Chris Gamble

OLB: James Anderson

MLB: Luke Kuechly

OLB: Jon Beason

CB: Josh Norman

FS: Eric Reid

SS: Charles Godfrey

This to me may be the best way to fill as many holes as possible.

Cam has elevated his play and if he can get everyone to play up to potential we could be a perennial playoff team.

Decent as a whole but not my cup of tea.

We need to build from the lines out imo because in part, that can make the secondary play easier. Also, the difference between Reid and other safeties in this draft isn't much especially when compared to the drop in quality for the first round o & d-lineman.

Also, I think it'd be a big problem not to address WR in the first two rounds in the draft especially if we trade back and have 3 picks before round 3.

There's a very good crop in Patterson, Patton, Williams, Hopkins that I would hate to pass up on only to get a 5th or 6th rounder.

As I said, we need to build from the lines out, but we really really do need another playmaker on this offense. We have consistent weapons in Olsen, LaFell, D'lo, and Stew but I want to get a guy who can be a big threat type weapon. Patterson would be freaking awesome, Patton would do, and I'm a fan of Hopkins.
