Horr-i-ble.

And what part of that song was about Cam Newton? Where does the talk about Cam end and the braggadocio about his subpar rapping skills begin? I couldn't tell the difference.

Isn't that what 99% of rap is?

Hey, just talk about how awesome you are and how much money you have. Maybe even have a photo shoot of yourself at someone elses private jet just to make it look like you have money.

lmao

Nowadays? Yes. Throughout the 80s, 90s, and early 2000s there was plenty of options when it came to rap with substance... Now the options are extremely limited and this is the norm, sadly (except most rappers have much stronger delivery and flow than this). Before, most guys would rap about substance with an occasional bar or so touching on how great they are in some manner, now it is the reverse.

Some guys from "back in the day" are still making things music worth listening to, but usually this crap is what sells. I can guarantee you, he isn't "changing" the rap game, lol.

I've been relegated to listening to the old guys I was familiar with growing up for the most part - fine example:

But, I guess everyone can't be Mos Def.

Top 40 radio rap is not 99% of rap.

Saying this is like saying 99% of rock is Nickleback.
