we hear about him and smitty's samaritan's feet work. i wonder if someone has any info on the other guys on the team and what charity works they are helping out with.

it would be good to have a thread listing all of them because i know most of them probably are. stats like that are more important than anything they do on the field, imo.

fug the national media. They're too busy trying to tear this guy down every time he puts a towel on his head to bother reporting about stuff like this. They always say that they need more good off the field stories to report on in football, yet the ignore plenty of them.

As i've been saying for a while, Cam isn't perfect but he does have his head on straight. What he's doing now is a continuation of what he was doing while at Auburn, give back. You know there will come a time when someone is going to try and get Cam to donate money to their charity and he won't for whatever reason. That will be the story you will see on ESPN/NFLN because it will fit the image they have gone out of their way to creat of Cam.

Local stories like this should stay local. It's better for the fans to toot Cam's horn when it comes to who he really is. It's you who are the ones who support the team and the city of Charlotte. It's you who should tell the world about your QB's good deeds for the community.

I was stunned when I read one of the Charlotte's newspapers sports site during the draft of folks being so against Cam coming to the Panthers that they were going to boycott the games and even had tee-shirts opposing him coming. I have never seen the sports media whip folks up into such a hate frenzy based on nothing more than lies, half trues, and false accusations. I was like, SERIOUSLY? I strongly wanted to believe that folks in the South weren't that small minded. I was glad to see so many turned out to welcome Cam when he got drafted but it was clear that he was a "marked" young man.

Only Obama can get the level of hate Cam has gotten based on nothing more than the media whipping up falsehoods....Such as him not being an American. REALLY?

Dude, I absolutely agree that Cam gets the shaft a lot from the media, but this thread was about appreciating his charitable work, not rehashing what we all know about the stupid media. Cam will be fine, we're going to take good care of him as a franchise, and he will get his long-term image sorted out in the media, be a winner and enjoy a successful career. I'm not worried about that.
