If Ron stays, is Norv as OC a no brainer?

For a second I thought you'd totally lost it. Norv Turner helping someone with time management? Then I realized "oh, GAME management"

I must be in the minority when i say i think chud is a great playcaller. when he toned back the read option we really hit our stride. this guy is still one of the best playcallers in the gm i think he should get a interview when rivera is fired.

I really don't see a guy finally getting his own GM spot and NOT picking his own guys. If you finally get that corner office after the old guy was fired, are you going to keep everything the same in there? Of course not, you're going to make it your own and change it to what you want it to be.

i would just hope he doesn't ignore cam's rushing ability and, rather, incorporates it with the scheme and playcalling. i'd also hope that he's not so staunchly attached to his system that he won't utilize some of the things that helped make cam successful in college.

the thing about turner is he's well known enough and had enough experience with the league that his tendencies and scheme are well known and easily prepared for.

i think it might have worked in an era where it wasn't so easy to score or get down the field quickly, but that just isn't the case.

you have to keep the ball. you have to move it. you have to keep on scoring. you cannot trust your defense to keep the other team from scoring. you just can't give them that option.

on 4th and 1 you go for it...esp. at the end of the game. doesn't matter if you have the lead or not. you can't keep a small lead and give the ball away.

the WCO is on it's way out.

too complicated to learn. the verbiage is too complicated. both unnecessarily so. it's being abandoned in favor of simpler (albeit riskier), but ultimately more effective passing offenses that gets down the field faster and gets on the board quicker (e.g., the spread).

I was in favor of this last offseason had Norv been fired and Chud got hired elsewhere. I'm not in favor of it now if Rivera sticks around.

Our offense is soft. Lots of finesse but not much toughness. Norv wouldn't change that unless he was offset by a tougher head coach than Ron. I don't see those two being good together.
